ABSTRACT: This dissertation problematizes the meanings of ethnic, territorial, and environmental belonging within a context marked by land disputes, institutional invisibility, and tensions between local knowledge and techno-legal rationalities. Its general objective is to identify and analyze the meanings and social practices of quilombola identity belonging as attributed by the Manga Iús community, located in the Cerrado region of Piauí. Methodologically, the research adopts a qualitative approach, articulating Oral History and Critical Discourse Analysis, with emphasis on the dimension of social practice proposed by Fairclough. The empirical corpus consists of semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and the development of affective maps in collaboration with community members. The systematization of data enabled the construction of five thematic axes: Personal and Family History; Quilombola Recognition; Memories of Ancestors; Former Ways of Life and Work; and Territorial Connection and Community Unity. The theoretical framework is grounded in authors such as Halbwachs (collective memory), Arruti (re-semantization of the quilombo), Nego Bispo (quilombola ways of life), Haesbaert (territoriality), and D’Adesky (ethnic identity), allowing for an understanding of quilombola identity as a relational, dynamic, and environmentally situated process. The results show that quilombola belonging goes beyond genealogical or documentary criteria, being constituted through social practices, affective ties, spirituality, collective labor, and the sustainable management of the Cerrado. The narratives reveal a distinct environmental discourse grounded in traditional knowledge and everyday experience with the biome, in which nature and culture emerge as inseparable dimensions. We conclude that the meanings and social practices of the Manga Iús community operate as forms of resistance, socio-environmental agency, and identity affirmation, configuring themselves as instruments of symbolic and political struggle for recognition, territory, and environmental justice. pt_BR
