Abstract:
RESUMO: O trabalho busca compreender como os discursos de ódio contra o Nordeste e os nordestinos se articulam com a desinformação, tendo como objeto de investigação as narrativas publicadas no twitter durante as eleições presidenciais de 2022. A análise das narrativas selecionadas foi realizada de modo interpretativo e de caráter qualitativo, tendo como suporte teórico-metodológico a Hermenêutica em Profundidade (HP), de John Thompson (1995), que nos permitiu realizar um processo contínuo de interpretação e reinterpretação, sustentado por um caminho tríplice de análise: contexto sócio-histórico, análise formal ou discursiva e interpretação/rein- terpretação. A escolha do tema se justifica pela repercussão dos ataques coordenados de ódio contra os nordestinos durante as eleições presidenciais, que chegaram a figurar entre os assuntos mais comentados da rede social Twitter. Portanto, no primeiro capítulo deste trabalho, abordamos os conceitos e as principais manifestações do discurso de ódio, com ênfase na xenofobia, além do emprego da desinformação como estratégia política. No segundo capítulo, apresentamos os conceitos de desinformação, seu panorama histórico contemporâneo e desvelamos sua relação com o discurso de ódio. Já na terceira parte, traçamos um panorama dos elementos centrais do processo de formação do Nordeste, destacando os principais desdobramentos que
contribuíram para a invenção da região. No quarto capítulo, nos dedicamos ao processo analítico-interpretativo das postagens do twitter. Ao final, as análises apontam que o preconceito contra o Nordeste e os nordestinos remonta ao próprio processo de constituição da região enquanto recorte espacial, embora a desinformação aprofunde esse quadro ao acionar e intensificar afetos negativos direcionados a essa população.
ABSTRACT: This study seeks to understand how hate speech directed at the Northeast region of Brazil and Northeastern people is articulated with disinformation, taking as its object of investigation the narratives published on twitter during the 2022 presidential elections. The analysis of the selected narratives was conducted through an interpretative and qualitative approach, supported by John Thompson’s (1995) Depth Hermeneutics (DH) as its theoretical and methodological framework. This approach enabled a continuous process of interpretation and reinterpretation, grounded in a threefold analytical path: socio-historical context, formal or discursive analysis,
and interpretation/reinterpretation. The choice of this topic is justified by the repercussions of coordinated hate attacks against Northeastern people during the presidential elections, which became some of the most discussed topics on twitter. Therefore, the first chapter addresses the concepts and main manifestations of hate speech, with an emphasis on xenophobia, as well as the use of disinformation as a political strategy. The second chapter presents the concepts of disinformation, its contemporary historical background, and its relationship with hate speech. The third chapter outlines the central elements involved in the historical formation of the Nor-
theast, highlighting the main developments that contributed to the invention of the region. The fourth chapter is dedicated to the analytical and interpretative examination of the twitter posts selected for the study. The findings indicate that prejudice against the Northeast and Northeastern people is rooted in the very process through which the region was historically constituted as a spatial and symbolic construct. However, disinformation deepens this scenario by activating and intensifying negative emotions directed toward this population.
