Abstract:
despotencializa as jovens transvestigêneres.
ABSTRACT: This research stems from the implications for the researcher as a transvestite woman of
mapping her lived experiences at UFPI (Federal University of Piauí). The investigation is part of the Observatory of Childhoods and Youth in Education/OBIJUVE, which complements the research of the Center for Studies and Research in Education, Gender and Citizenship/NEPEGECI, within the line of Education, Diversities/Difference and Inclusion of the Postgraduate Program in Education at the Federal University of Piauí – UFPI. Its research problem is: What can the transvestite body do with acceptance, while responding to transphobic violence, to remain in the CCE (Center for Educational Sciences) at UFPI? The general objective was to investigate the concepts and affects developed by transgender youth from the Center for Educational Sciences/CCE of the Federal University of Piauí/UFPI regarding what the transgender body can do in the face of transphobia, with the aim of being welcomed to remain at the CCE/UFPI. Specific objectives included: getting to know the transgender youth who are part of the CCE at UFPI; identifying the transphobic violence that prevents transgender youth from remaining at the CCE; understanding the forms of support that help transgender youth remain at the CCE; and proposing permanent forms of support to combat possible transphobic violence that hinders the permanence of transgender youth at the
CCE. The theoretical framework is anchored in research by transgender people, such as Juno Nedel (2020), to consider the trans body as a living archive of memories. It also draws on the work of Bruna Benevides (2025), Céu Cavalcanti and collaborators (2018), Jaqueline de Jesus (2014c; 2019), Letícia Nascimento (2021, 2023), Maria Clara Passos (2023), and Tiffany Odara (2020) to understand the historical aspects that scrutinize the origins of transphobic violence, but also how we have articulated ourselves nationally in response to this violence. Finally, it draws on the research of Amara Rodovalho (2017), Jaqueline de Jesus (2014a; 2014b), Jota Mombaça (2017), and Letícia Nascimento (2021) to consider Transfeminism. In addition to Helena Vieira (2018), Letícia Nascimento (2023), Megg Oliveira (2017), and Viviane Vergueiro (2016), we study transgender youth and institutionalized transphobia in schools and, above all, in universities. Besides these, other research is also included, including that of cisgender people. Methodologically, the research is guided by Sociopoetics, which
deals with the collective, critical and inventive production of knowledge, with the production of confetti as a distinguishing feature, concepts permeated by affects (Adad, 2014a; Gauthier, 2024; Petit, 2014). The research group consists of the facilitator and five (05) young co-researchers-queers2 (Paulo, Sat, Taffyta, Jazmin and Arapuca), one aged 20, two aged 21, one aged 27 and one who did not disclose her age, students of the Pedagogy, Fashion and Visual Arts courses at CCE/UFPI, in Teresina-PI. The itinerary diary, which I call the diary of the throbbing, was used to record the experiences. The technique, the transspiral skin of welcoming, led to the creation of data and oral accounts of the generating theme of welcoming in the CCE. After studying the data, we identified the following findings and problems as results: Within the university, there are pessoas-chequeiras, those who practice prática-educativa-cheque, that is, an education permeated by transphobic violence that disempowers young transgender women. These pessoas-chequeiras are supported by the pacto-cisheterobrancocristão, an unspoken contract involving transphobic educational 2This term was developed from the ideas of the research group itself and will be used throughout the work. practices. This generates the acolhimento-Sozinha-Sozinha!?, which is a lack of acceptance
within the university, and the reasons for not being socially accepted through the process are reflected in the red-purple-rejection, the rejection of being alone, of being told you are not welcome, and which has strong colors from these pessoas-chequeiras. These rejections, in turn, produce an existência-coisa-peso-de-estar-sozinha, in which young women feel the weight of being alone because they have no one and of being alone because there are many people who do not understand them. To survive, they use the tática-vida-que-segue, a tactic created by the tecido-corpo-bicha fabric, which has to be radical; the tática-rolê-dos-processos-concluídos, in which young transgender women believe it's good to put an end to negative things; and the tática-manter-a-calma-sozinha, dealing with violence alone, especially staying calm when the dead name - the name transgender people were called before their transition - is spoken. Despite this, there are pessoas-acolhedoras and pessoas-aleatórias-com-cabelos-coloridos at the university who are welcoming and whom the young women can count on, generating a acolhimento-bicha-com-bicha welcoming environment where young transgender women go to university, experience violence, but arrive in the classroom and find that queer person they really like. This acceptance produces a ExistênciaTrans-na-dor-e-na-delícia-de-viver-colecionando-gente, because the young women carry all the good things within their pain and enjoy living in a body that is neither male nor female, and are happy to meet people who mark their lives and offer support. Within this existence, they use the tática-costura-amizade, which is the power of stitching together friendships. The study points towards the constitution of a transvestite-gender collective body in the CCE that empowers itself, re-exists, and creates spiral epistemologies of acceptance, because despite the tears made in the tecido-corpo-bicha fabric by the Pacto- cisheterobrancocristão, the young women remake the stitches of themselves.
