ABSTRACT: An alternative to increase phosphorus (P) availability in soil for plants is the use of microorganisms capable of facilitating the use of phosphate fertilizers and/or solubilizing residual P. In this context, the objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of three arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF), either alone or in combination with Bacillus subtilis, on root architecture, growth promotion, photosynthetic pigments, and nutrient accumulation in corn plants grown under varying P levels. The experiment was conducted under greenhouse conditions, with a randomized block design and treatments arranged in an 8 × 3 factorial scheme. Individual inoculations of Bacillus subtilis (IPACC26), Rhizophagus clarus (RJN102A), Claroideoglomus etunicatum (SCT101A), and a commercial inoculant of Rhizophagus intraradices (Rootella BR ULTRA) were tested, along with three coinoculations (IPACC26 with each fungus) and a control without microorganisms. These treatments were combined with three levels of phosphate fertilization: 0, 50, and 100% of the recommended dose of P2O5 for corn. Overall, mycorrhizal colonization benefited corn plants by increasing soil glomalin content, improving root architecture, increasing photosynthetic pigments, and enhancing P and other nutrient accumulation in both aerial and root parts, resulting in better growth and biomass production at 0 and 50% P levels. These effects were further enhanced by inoculations with R. clarus and C. etunicatum, either alone or in combination with B. subtilis, especially under moderate P levels (50% P). It is concluded that the strains of R. clarus and C. etunicatum co-inoculated with B. subtilis show great potential as inoculants for corn cultivation, contributing to the reduction of phosphate fertilizer use. pt_BR
