<title>PAUL RICŒUR: a noção de sabedoria trágica</title>
<link>http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/4218</link>
<description>PAUL RICŒUR: a noção de sabedoria trágica
SOUZA, ALUIZIO OLIVEIRA DE
RESUMO: Esta pesquisa apresenta como tese “A noção de sabedoria trágica” a partir da filosofia de Paul Ricœur (1913-2005). O texto está dividido, basicamente, em três discussões-problemas: i) a noção de trágico segundo Ricœur; ii) os limites do conceito de sabedoria prática; iii) as implicações da noção de sabedoria trágica. A pesquisa coloca em evidência a abordagem do conceito de sabedoria prática como sendo insuficiente para a compreensão e para a interpretação dos momentos trágicos da vida humana, necessariamente, são nesses momentos que se exige uma sabedoria específica. Pontuam-se os principais interlocutores de Ricœur e essenciais para a formulação da pesquisa, são eles: Aristóteles (384 a.C.-322 a.C.), Immanuel&#13;
Kant (1724-1804) e Karl Jaspers (1883-1969). Por conseguinte, o texto toma para si como percurso metodológico fundamental a hermenêutica fenomenológica ricœuriana, que apresenta essa noção de sabedoria trágica. Desse modo, as principais obras do filósofo francês que merecem destaque para a manifestação da tese são: Philosophie de la volonté: Le volontaire et l'involontaire (1950), Le conflit des interprétations: Essais d’herméneutique I (1969), Le mal. Un défi à la philosophie et à la théologie (1986), Soi-même comme un autre (1990), Lectures. Tome III: Aux frontières de la philosophie (1992). Portanto, com base nestas obras, para a configuração da noção de sabedoria trágica, torna-se de suma importância considerar as seguintes questões: o mal, a sabedoria prática, a não-filosofia e a vida. ABSTRACT: Cette recherche présente comme thèse «La notion de sagesse tragique» à partir de la philosophie&#13;
de Paul Ricœur (1913-2005). Le texte est essentiellement divisé en trois discussions-problèmes: i) la notion de tragique selon Ricœur; ii) les limites du concept de sagesse pratique; iii) les implications de la notion de sagesse tragique. La recherche met en évidence l’approche du concept de sagesse pratique comme étant insuffisante pour comprendre et interpréter les moments tragiques de la vie humaine; ce sont nécessairement ces moments qui exigent une sagesse spécifique. Dans ce sens, il convient de souligner les principaux interlocuteurs de Ricœur, essentiels à la formulation de la recherche, à savoir: Aristote (384 av. J. – C. – 322 av. J.-C.), Immanuel Kant (1724-1804) et Karl Jaspers (1883-1969). Par conséquent, le texte adopte&#13;
comme démarche méthodologique fondamentale l’herméneutique phénoménologique&#13;

<link>http://hdl.handle.net/123456789/4196</link>
ABSTRACT:This research aims to present an analysis of Michel Foucault's thought on the examination. Is it possible to verify the practice of the examination as a device for producing truth in the Foucaultian disciplinary, biopolitical and self-context? The hypothesis of this research, which aims to be our thesis, is that the examination constitutes a producer of disciplinary, self, and biopolitical truth, even though Foucault made no explicit reference to the examination in the context of the normalizing society. This is due to the requirement production of truth for governmentality to exist. The investigations on the issue begin with Discipline and Punish, which is the only work in which Foucault presents a detailed approach to the examination. However, the philosopher's works that are directly or indirectly linked to the issue of the examination as an operator of the knowledge and power relationship were consulted. In The Will to Know (History of Sexuality I), Foucault establishes the junction point between control by disciplinary truth (of the individual) and control by the truth of normalization (of the population). These are the disciplines of the body and the regulations of the population, which Foucault classified as techniques of disciplinary control, an anatomical-political analysis of the human body, and as regulatory techniques of the biopolitics of the population. In the two works cited above, Foucault makes direct reference to the practice of examination, however, in the works considered biopolitical, In Defense of Society; Security, Territory, Population; Birth of Biopolitics, the philosopher did not refer directly to examination. Given this situation and the requirement for the production of truth in order to exist government in each and every aspect of life, the research aims to demonstrate that examination is present in biopolitical society as much as in disciplinary society. The research addresses the production of truth based on the practices of inquiry and examination, highlighting the prevalence of the latter over the former in the production of truth in the disciplinary-normalizing context. The practice of inquiry reconstructs past data and facts in order to produce truth, a characteristic of feudal society. Even though the knowledge of inquiry was important for the constitution of the State and empirical sciences, it is shown that a new art of governing emerged in the 18th century and inquiry lost its leading role, which was replaced by the practice of examination. Initially, the examination, with its techniques of surveillance, discipline and norms, constituted a disciplinary device for individuals, making them docile and useful; later, with the same control techniques, the examination became a central device in the production of truth for the control of the population. It is the entry of life into history, which is linked to the way in which truth is produced from then on, through examination. This is biopolitical governmentality, characterized by the practice of liberalism/neoliberalism, whose principle is always to complain about the excess of government. The thesis highlights the examination producing truth in the government of oneself, evidenced by Foucault when analyzing the pagan techniques and practices of the self in the culture of Greco-Roman Antiquity. In this sense, Foucault's analysis seeks to understand Christian asceticism by adapting pagan asceticism's examination of conscience to its own interests, stripping individuals of their autonomy and imposing self-renunciation as the only path to salvation, thus shaping the characteristics of Western culture. However, it seeks to show that Foucault's analysis refers to the articulation of Aufklärung with parrhesia and that in this process, the examination of conscience, through techniques of the self, through selfgovernment, enables the reclaiming of the individual's otherness, reestablishing the conditions for a governmentality of self and others far from the cultural minority present in modernity and contemporaneity.

<description>ESTÉTICA COMO PROPEDÊUTICA MORAL EM KANT:a analogia entre o belo,o sublime e o bom
PENHA, Patrícia Silveira
RESUMO&#13;
A presente pesquisa propõe a tese segundo a qual a estética kantiana e o conceito de &#13;
belo e de sublime, nos aproximam das ideias morais, pois ambas nos direcionam à ideia &#13;
de um sentimento de respeito e a um sentimento moral, em distinção de qualquer &#13;
sentimento meramente patológico (interesses baseados em inclinações egoístas). A &#13;
partir de uma abordagem da moral e da estética de Kant utilizaremos como fio condutor &#13;
as seguintes obras principais: Fundamentação da Metafísica dos Costumes (1785),&#13;
Observações sobre o sentimento do belo e do sublime (1764) e a Crítica da Faculdade &#13;
do Juízo (1790), cuja proposta é investigar de que modo o desinteresse pelo empírico&#13;
pode despertar em nós uma propedêutica moral. Como obras secundárias, utilizaremos &#13;
também os seguintes escritos kantianos: Crítica da Razão Pura (1781) (Estética &#13;
Transcendental), Crítica da Razão Prática (1788), Metafísica dos Costumes (1797) e a &#13;
Antropologia de um ponto de vista pragmático (1798), para aprofundar os conceitos que &#13;
se relacionam com a problemática da estética e da moralidade. Inicialmente, faremos &#13;
uma abordagem da moralidade kantiana presente na Fundamentação, com o intuito de &#13;
observar quais são os critérios para um agir moral e livre, para posteriormente, entender &#13;
a relação entre a estética e a moralidade na filosofia kantiana. Em segundo lugar, &#13;
trataremos dos principais filósofos que serviram como ponto-chave para o &#13;
desenvolvimento da teoria estética de Kant, a saber, Hume, Baumgarten e Burke. &#13;
Assim, estabeleceremos as principais relações e divergências entre Kant e os estetas &#13;
modernos, a fim de demonstrar que a estética kantiana nos conduz aos princípios de um &#13;
agir moral. Sendo assim, realizaremos uma investigação filosófica dos principais &#13;
conceitos kantianos que nos conduzem às reflexões estéticas e morais: o belo, o &#13;
sublime, o interesse prático, o interesse patológico, o sentimento moral, o sentimento &#13;
de respeito e o interesse intelectual pelo belo natural. A presente pesquisa se ampara &#13;
nos estudos de relevantes pesquisadores (as) da filosofia kantiana, como por exemplo, &#13;
Gérard Lebrun, Maria de Lourdes Borges, Jane Kneller, Eva Schaper etc., os quais &#13;
ressaltam, brevemente, uma aproximação entre a estética kantiana e a moralidade. &#13;
Lebrun em seu livro Sobre Kant dedica o seu último capítulo intitulado “A Razão &#13;
Prática na Crítica do Juízo” a uma analogia entre o juízo de gosto e o juízo moral. &#13;
Segundo Lebrun (2012), o que torna possível esta aproximação é que o juízo estético do &#13;
belo e o juízo moral nos direcionam a ideia de um “sentimento de finalidade”. Este &#13;
sentimento deriva de um prazer desinteressado ao contemplarmos aquilo que é belo. &#13;
Adiante, Maria de Lourdes Borges nos convida, também, a uma convergência do &#13;
domínio estético ao moral. Borges (2001) enfatiza que a analogia entre a moralidade e a &#13;
estética não está ligada a uma semelhança de conteúdo, mas a uma “semelhança nas &#13;
regras de reflexão.” Isto implica dizer que tanto o belo natural quanto a moralidade são &#13;
universais, pois aprazem de modo imediato e desinteressado. Jane Kneller nos apresenta &#13;
um capítulo intitulado de “Os interesses do desinteresse”, cujo livro é Kant e o poder da &#13;
imaginação, o qual defende uma postura de que os juízos de gosto, assim como os &#13;
juízos morais, buscam um consentimento de todos, isto é, uma exigência moral. Eva &#13;
Schaper (2009) reconhece uma certa autonomia do juízo estético com relação ao juízo &#13;
moral. Esta aproximação entre a estética e a moralidade se apoia na Crítica do Juízo, a &#13;
qual mostra que o belo e o sublime conduzem à moralidade, porque eles suscitam em &#13;
nós um estado de ânimo análogo aos juízos morais. Com isso, concluiremos que a os &#13;
juízos estéticos do belo e do sublime são imprescindíveis para refletirmos sobre as &#13;
questões morais, na medida em que a experiência estética nos proporciona uma &#13;
propedêutica moral, isto é, não apenas o cultivo da liberdade, mas também, de nossa &#13;
sensibilidade moral, ou seja, da capacidade de sermos afetados de maneira estética, &#13;
justamente porque a experiência do belo e do sublime têm a possibilidade direcionar os &#13;
indivíduos a uma convivência ética em sociedade. &#13;

ABSTRACT&#13;
This research proposes the thesis according to which Kantian aesthetics and the concept &#13;
of beauty and the sublime bring us closer to moral ideas, as both direct us to the idea of &#13;
a feeling of respect and a moral feeling, in distinction from any feeling merely &#13;
pathological (interests based on selfish inclinations). From an approach to Kant's morals &#13;
and aesthetics, we will use the following main works as a guiding thread: Groundwork&#13;
of the Metaphysics of Morals (1785), Observations on the Feeling of the Beautiful and &#13;
Sublime (1764) and the Critique of Judgment (1790), whose purpose is to investigate &#13;
how aesthetic disinterestedness can awaken in us a moral propaedeutic. As secondary &#13;
writings, we will also use the following Kantian writings: Critique of Pure Reason&#13;
(1781) (Transcendental Aesthetics), Critique of Practical Reason (1788), Metaphysics &#13;
of Morals (1797) and Anthropology from a pragmatic point of view (1798), to deepen &#13;
the concepts that relate to the issues of aesthetics and morality. Initially, we will &#13;
approach the Kantian morality present in the Groundwork, with the aim of observing &#13;
what the criteria are for moral and free action, and later, understand the relationship &#13;
between aesthetics and morality in Kantian philosophy. Secondly, we will deal with the &#13;
main philosophers who served as key points for the development of Kant's aesthetic &#13;
theory, namely Hume, Baumgarten and Burke. Thus, we will establish the main &#13;
relationships and divergences between Kant and modern aesthetes, in order to &#13;
demonstrate that Kantian aesthetics leads us to the principles of moral action. Therefore, &#13;
we will carry out a philosophical investigation of the main Kantian concepts that lead us &#13;
to aesthetic and moral reflections: the beautiful, the sublime, the practical interest, the &#13;
pathological interest, the moral feeling, the feeling of respect and intellectual interest in &#13;
natural beauty. This research is based on the studies of relevant researchers of Kantian &#13;
philosophy, such as Gérard Lebrun, Maria de Lourdes Borges, Jane Kneller, Eva &#13;
Schaper etc., who briefly highlight an approximation between Kantian aesthetics and &#13;
morality. Lebrun in his book On Kant dedicates his last chapter entitled “Practical &#13;
Reason in the Critique of Judgment” to an analogy between the judgment of taste and &#13;
moral judgment. In accordance with Lebrun (2012), what makes this approach possible &#13;
is that the aesthetic judgment of beauty and the moral judgment direct us to the idea of a &#13;
“sense of purpose”. This feeling derives from a disinterested pleasure when &#13;
contemplating what is beautiful. Next, Maria de Lourdes Borges also invites us to a &#13;
convergence of the aesthetic and ethical domains. Borges (2001) emphasizes that the &#13;
analogy between morality and aesthetics is not linked to a similarity in content, but to a &#13;
“similarity in the rules of reflection.”. This implies saying that aesthetic judgments of &#13;
the beautiful and the sublime, as well as judgments are universal, as they please in an &#13;
immediate and disinterested way. Jane Kneller presents us with a chapter entitled “The &#13;
interests of disinterest”, whose book is Kant and the power of imagination, which &#13;
defends a position that judgments of taste, as well as like moral judgments, they seek &#13;
everyone's consent, that is, a moral requirement. Eva Schaper (2009) recognizes a &#13;
certain autonomy of aesthetic judgment in relation to moral judgment. Our research &#13;
aims to demonstrate that complacency for natural beauty brings us closer to a feeling &#13;
that directs us to moral ideas. This rapprochement between aesthetics and morality is &#13;
based on the Critique of Judgment, which shows that the beauty and the sublime lead to &#13;
morality, because they arouses in us a state of mind analogous to moral judgments.&#13;
With this, we will conclude that aesthetic judgments of the beautiful and the sublime are &#13;
essential for us to reflect on moral issues, insofar as the aesthetic experience provides us &#13;
with a moral propaedeutic, that is, not only the cultivation of freedom, but also of our &#13;
moral sensitivity, that is, the ability to be affected in an aesthetic way, precisely because &#13;
the experience of the beautiful and the sublime has the possibility of directing &#13;
individuals to an ethical coexistence in society.&#13;
Keywords: Kant. Morality. Aesthetics. Beauty. Sublime.

natural beauty. This research is based on the studies of relevant researchers of Kantian&#13;
philosophy, such as Gérard Lebrun, Maria de Lourdes Borges, Jane Kneller, Eva&#13;
Schaper etc., who briefly highlight an approximation between Kantian aesthetics and&#13;
morality. Lebrun in his book On Kant dedicates his last chapter entitled “Practical&#13;
Reason in the Critique of Judgment” to an analogy between the judgment of taste and&#13;
moral judgment. In accordance with Lebrun (2012), what makes this approach possible&#13;
is that the aesthetic judgment of beauty and the moral judgment direct us to the idea of a&#13;
“sense of purpose”. This feeling derives from a disinterested pleasure when&#13;
contemplating what is beautiful. Next, Maria de Lourdes Borges also invites us to a&#13;
convergence of the aesthetic and ethical domains. Borges (2001) emphasizes that the&#13;
analogy between morality and aesthetics is not linked to a similarity in content, but to a&#13;
“similarity in the rules of reflection.”. This implies saying that aesthetic judgments of&#13;
the beautiful and the sublime, as well as judgments are universal, as they please in an&#13;
immediate and disinterested way. Jane Kneller presents us with a chapter entitled “The&#13;
interests of disinterest”, whose book is Kant and the power of imagination, which&#13;
defends a position that judgments of taste, as well as like moral judgments, they seek&#13;
everyone's consent, that is, a moral requirement. Eva Schaper (2009) recognizes a&#13;
certain autonomy of aesthetic judgment in relation to moral judgment. Our research&#13;
aims to demonstrate that complacency for natural beauty brings us closer to a feeling&#13;
that directs us to moral ideas. This rapprochement between aesthetics and morality is&#13;
based on the Critique of Judgment, which shows that the beauty and the sublime lead to&#13;
morality, because they arouses in us a state of mind analogous to moral judgments.&#13;
With this, we will conclude that aesthetic judgments of the beautiful and the sublime are&#13;
essential for us to reflect on moral issues, insofar as the aesthetic experience provides us&#13;
with a moral propaedeutic, that is, not only the cultivation of freedom, but also of our&#13;
moral sensitivity, that is, the ability to be affected in an aesthetic way, precisely because&#13;
&#13;
the experience of the beautiful and the sublime has the possibility of directing&#13;
individuals to an ethical coexistence in society.
