Os genótipos indicados morfoagronômicos foram 115, 110, 92, 38, 108 e 103; para acidez titulável, os 31, 118 e 74; para sólidos solúveis totais, os genótipos 124 e 112; e para sólidos solúveis totais/acidez titulável, os genótipos 109 e 47.-------------------ABSTRACT: Cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale L.) is an adapted and widely distributed species in the Northeast region of Brazil, which presents genetic variability in plantations of producing regions that should be described for breeding purposes. The aim of this study was to perform the agro-morphological characterization, to estimate genetic parameters and genetic diversity in common cashew populations in commercial plantations in the state of Piauí, in order to select individuals with potential for improvement in breeding programs. In the population of the municipality of Ipiranga, there is genetic variability for the studied traits, with the genotypes 28, 4 and 43 being the most divergent. The titratable acidity has an important contribution in the genotypes dispersion, with an emphasis on 4 and 10, 35 and 36, due to their low and high magnitude, respectively. The selection of genotypes with desirable characteristics of fruit, accessory fruit, almond and total soluble solids (ºBrix) can be efficient, considering the presence of genetic variability in the population and the independent behavior of these characters, with emphasis on individuals 17, 26, 28 and 37. Genotypes 10 and 28 stand out in total weight and thickness of the accessory fruit, while 7 and 24 for the production of cashew nut and almond. With ten replicates we have the number of required measures for phenotypic stability of the agro-morphological characters studied. The mixed models approach was used when a study about the prediction of genotypic values was conducted in the municipalities of Piracuruca, Barro Duro, Teresina and Ipiranga do Piauí. It was verified that there is genetic variability for the characters evaluated, in the four environments populations, which is fundamental for the selection’s execution. The selection of genotypes with satisfactory levels of total soluble solids / titratable acidity and desirable fruit, accessory fruit and almond characteristics is feasible. Indirect selection can also be performed through easily measured descriptors for characters that are strongly influenced by the environment. The genotypes indicated for selection based on the agro-morphological characters are 115, 110, 92, 38, 108 and 103; For titratable acidity, 31, 118 and 74; For the total soluble solids, 124 and 112; And for solid soluble solids / titratable acidity ratio, the genotypes 109 and 47. |
