DIAGNÓSTICO SOBRE A VIABILIDADE DO PEDIDO DE REGISTRO DE INDICAÇÃO GEOGRÁFICA PARA A CERÂMICA ARTESANAL DE ARGILA BRANCA DE FLORIANO/PI.

Abstract

RESUMO: A Indicação Geográfica (IG) tem sido utilizada para identificar umprodutoouserviçocomo originário de uma determinada região. Tal identificação permiteevidenciarcaracterísticas peculiares desses bens, conferindo-lhes reconhecimento,notoriedade e um diferencial competitivo. O objetivo central destapesquisaéanalisar a viabilidade do registro de IG para a cerâmica artesanal de argilabrancadeFloriano-PI. Para isso, o estudo foi estruturado em quatro etapas metodológicas.Inicialmente, realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, documental e midiática, comointuito de localizar estudos científicos capazes de subsidiar, direta ou indiretamente,a análise e a discussão teórica, além de levantar informações sobre ahistóriaeareputação da cerâmica artesanal. Em seguida, foi conduzida uma pesquisadecampo, envolvendo a observação do processo produtivo da cerâmica earealizaçãode entrevistas com artesãos. Posteriormente, procedeu-se à coleta e àanálisedasargilas utilizadas, com base em critérios químicos. Por fim, os resultados obtidosemtodas as etapas foram consolidados em um Relatório Técnico Conclusivo, queconstitui o produto técnico-tecnológico da pesquisa. Os achados indicamumdiagnóstico favorável à obtenção do registro de IG, tanto na modalidadedeIndicação de Procedência (IP) quanto na de Denominação de Origem(DO). AIPjustifica-se pelas evidências de notoriedade identificadas empublicações científicas,matérias jornalísticas, postagens em mídias sociais e reportagens televisivas. Jáaviabilidade da DO decorre, além do modo de fazer singular —fruto de umatradiçãoprodutiva transmitida entre gerações e enraizada na cultura local —, daexistênciade um fator natural peculiar na matéria-prima, o qual influencia diretamenteascaracterísticas da cerâmica, conferindo-lhe a coloração branca, traço característicoda produção cerâmica florianense. ABSTRACT: Geographical Indication (GI) has been used to identify a product or serviceasoriginating from a given region. This identification allows us to highlight theuniquecharacteristics of these goods, giving them recognition, notoriety and acompetitiveedge. The main objective of this research is to analyze the feasibility of registeringaGI for artisanal white clay ceramics from Floriano-PI. To this end, thestudywasstructured in four methodological stages. Initially, a bibliographic, documentaryandmedia research was carried out, with the aim of locating scientific studies capableofdirectly or indirectly supporting the analysis and theoretical discussion, inadditiontogathering information on the history and reputation of artisanal ceramics. Next, afieldstudy was conducted, involving observation of the ceramic production processandinterviews with artisans. Subsequently, the clays used were collected andanalyzed,based on chemical criteria. Finally, the results obtained in all stageswereconsolidated in a Conclusive Technical Report, which constitutes thetechnicaltechnological product of the research. The findings indicate a favorable diagnosisforobtaining GI registration, both in the Indication of Origin (IP) and DenominationofOrigin (DO) categories. The IP is justified by evidence of notoriety identifiedinscientific publications, journalistic articles, social media posts and televisionreports.The viability of the DO derives, in addition to the unique way of making—theresultof a productive tradition passed down through generations and rooted inlocal culture—, from the existence of a peculiar natural factor in the raw material, whichdirectlyinfluences the characteristics of the ceramic, giving it its white color, a characteristicfeature of ceramic production in florianense.
