ESTADO NUTRICIONAL DE SELÊNIO NO CÂNCER DE MAMA: uma revisão sistemática

Abstract

RESUMO:Objetivo: Avaliar o estado nutricional do selênio em mulheres com câncer de mama em comparação a mulheres sem câncer de mama. Métodos: Foi desenvolvida uma revisão sistemática relatada de acordo com a declaração Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). O estudo buscou responder a seguinte questão norteadora: “O estado nutricional relativo ao selênio em mulheres com câncer de mama apresenta alterações em comparação ao de mulheres sem câncer de mama?". A busca ocorreu nas seguintes bases de dados: PubMed, Web of Science e Embase. Foram incluídos estudos que avaliaram o estado nutricional do selênio em mulheres com câncer de mama, em comparação a mulheres sem a doença. Resultados: Vinte e cinco artigos foram identificados como elegíveis. Os teores de selênio dietético estavam reduzidos em mulheres com câncer de mama, em relação às participantes do grupo controle. Foram constatadas concentrações reduzidas no soro, cabelo e unhas do mineral em mulheres com câncer de mama em relação às mulheres do grupo controle. Houve resultados divergentes quanto a atividade da enzima glutationa peroxidase em mulheres com câncer de mama em comparação ao grupo controle. Considerações finais: Os resultados encontrados evidenciam comprometimento do estado nutricional relativo ao selênio em mulheres com câncer de mama, em relação às mulheres sem a doença, no entanto, os resultados dos estudos ainda são bastante controversos. Isto pode ser justificado pelo complexo metabolismo do nutriente, bem como pela falta de controle de algumas variáveis que podem interferir na homeostase do mineral no organismo, a exemplo do peso, uso de suplementos, estágio do tumor, dentre outros aspectos. ABSTRACT:Objective: To evaluate selenium nutritional status in women with breast cancer compared to women without breast cancer. Methods: A systematic review reported according to the Preferred Reporting items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (Prism) was developed. The study sought to answer the following guiding question: “the nutritional status related to selenium in women with breast cancer has changes compared to women without breast cancer?” The search occurred in the following databases: PubMed, Web of Science and Bugga. Studies were included that evaluated selenium nutritional status in women with breast cancer compared to women without the disease. Results: twenty -five articles were identified as eligible. Dietary selenium contents were reduced in women with cancer Breast, compared to control of the control group. There were reduced concentrations in serum, hair and mineral nails in women with breast cancer compared to women in the control group. There were divergent results regarding the activity of the glutathione peroxidase enzyme in women with Breast cancer compared to the control group. Final considerations: The results found state impairment Selenium -related to women with breast cancer compared to women without the disease, however, the results of the studies are still quite controversial. This can be justified by the complex metabolism of the nutrient, as well as the lack of control of some variables that may interfere with mineral homeostasis in the body, such as weight, use of supplements, tumor stage, among other aspects.
