DA ESCOLA DE APRENDIZES ARTÍFICES À ESCOLA INDUSTRIAL FEDERAL DO PIAUÍ: história e memória da educação profissional (1909−1967)

Abstract

RESUMO Esta pesquisa consiste em um estudo sobre a trajetória histórica do Ensino Profissional em Teresina, a partir da Escola de Aprendizes Artífices do Piauí (EAAPI) até a Escola Industrial Federal do Piauí, considerando suas transformações e as contribuições para a consolidação do Ensino Profissional no estado. O problema da pesquisa foi: como ocorreu o processo de institucionalização do Ensino Industrial do Piauí, entre 1909 e 1967? O recorte temporal é justificado por 1909 ser o ano da instalação do Ensino Profissional em Teresina, com a inauguração da EAAPI; e 1967, quando a instituição passa a ser denominada Escola Industrial Federal do Piauí, oferecendo educação direcionada à formação da mão de obra industrial. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi investigar como ocorreu o processo de institucionalização do Ensino Industrial do Piauí, entre 1909 e 1967. Os objetivos específicos da pesquisa foram: a) compreender as várias transformações pelas quais a instituição passou, ao longo do recorte temporal pesquisado; b) identificar o processo de criação, implantação e consolidação da instituição, de 1909 a 1967; e c) analisar a história da instituição através da interpretação de diferentes documentos e variado acervo iconográfico. Como metodologia, foi utilizada pesquisa bibliográfica relacionada aos trabalhos de Julia(2001), Nora(1984), Le Goff(2001), Benito (2018), Cunha (2005), Ferro e Nascimento (2009), Gomes (2022) e Mitre e Teixeira (2019), bem como pesquisa documental em jornais e iconografia relacionados ao Ensino Profissional, no Piauí, orientadas pelo método indiciário de Ginzrburg (1989), seguindo o recorte temporal estabelecido. A documentação e bibliografia selecionada permitiram compreender o processo de constituição da Escola de Aprendizes Artífices marcada por avanços e retrocessos, mas mantendo sua importância no Ensino Profissional piauiense, o qual possibilitou aos jovens de classes menos abastadas a aprendizagem de um ofício.

ABSTRACT This dissertation consists of a study on the historical trajectory of professional education in Teresina from the Escola de Aprendizes Artífices to the Escola Industrial do Piauí, its transformations, the contributions to the consolidation of professional education in the state, having as a problem: how did the process of institutionalization of industrial education in Piauí between 1909 and 1967? This cut is justified by the year 1909 being the year of the installation of professional education in Teresina through the Escola de Aprendizes Artífices until the year 1967 when it became known as Escola Industrial do Piauí, offering an education aimed at training the hand. of industrial work. To answer this question, we developed the following objectives: understand the various transformations that the institution underwent over the researched period of time; identify the process of creation, consolidation and implementation of the institution from 1909 to 1967 and analyze the history of the institution through the interpretation of different documents and varied iconographic collection. As a methodology, a bibliographical research was used related to the works of Julia(2001), Nora(1984), Le Goff(2001), Benito (2018), Cunha (2005), Ferro et all (2009), Gomes (2002) and Miter (2019), as well as a documentary research in newspapers and iconography related to professional education in Piauí guided by Ginzrburg's indexical method, following the established time frame. The selected documentation and bibliography allowed us to understand the process of establishing the Escola de Aprendizes Artífices, marked by advances and setbacks, but maintaining its importance in Professional Education in Piauí, which made it possible for young people from less well-off classes to learn a trade.
