TECHNOLOGY ROADMAPPING APLICADO À GESTÃO DA TRANSFERÊNCIA DE TECNOLOGIA DAS CULTIVARES DE FEIJÃO-CAUPI (Vigna unguiculata) NO BRASIL

Abstract

RESUMO O feijão-caupi é um importante cultivo no Brasil, com potencial estratégico para o mercado interno e externo. Exportado para países como Índia, Egito e Paquistão, o feijão-caupi gera uma receita anual superior a US$77,5 milhões. No entanto, existem desafios a serem superados. Até 2017, apenas 73 cultivares melhoradas haviam sido lançadas, e muitas delas estão em domínio público. No Centro-Oeste, região com maior produtividade, as cultivares desenvolvidas pela Embrapa são as mais adotadas. No Nordeste, região tradicionalmente produtora de feijão-caupi, a baixa produtividade é atribuída à pouca adoção de tecnologias e ao cultivo predominante por agricultores familiares. O objetivo do projeto é elaborar um roadmap tecnológico aplicado à gestão da transferência de tecnologia de cultivares de feijão-caupi da Embrapa Meio-Norte. A pesquisa foi financiada pelo discente proponente e contou com o apoio da Embrapa Meio-Norte, que disponibilizou sua infraestrutura, acervo documental e recursos intelectuais. Trata-se de uma pesquisa, de caráter prospectivo, tecnológico e de inovação, tem natureza descritiva e analítica, realizada em três fases: uma fase de planejamento e preparação, em que foi realizada uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental para estruturar o roadmap tecnológico, incluindo sua arquitetura. Outra fase de desenvolvimento do plano tecnológico, em que foi realizado um workshop interno para identificar as lacunas operacionais e as perspectivas para otimizar a transferência de tecnologia e iniciar a elaboração do roadmap. E uma fase de finalização, em que se concluiu a construção do roadmap tecnológico com as rotas a serem seguidas e elaborou-se o relatório técnico conclusivo. As contribuições efetivas do trabalho estão na capacidade da abordagem Technology Roadmapping promover a discussão e a interação entre as equipes envolvidas no planejamento e execução de um plano para atingir os objetivos delineados, e no fato de permitir ao colegiado de gestão da Embrapa tomar decisões assertivas relacionadas à uma gestão otimizada do portfólio de cultivares de feijão-caupi disponíveis.

ABSTRACT The cowpea is an important crop in Brazil, with strategic potential for the domestic and foreign markets. Exported to countries such as India, Egypt, and Pakistan, cowpea generates an annual revenue of over $77.5 million. However, there are challenges to be overcome. Until 2017, only 73 improved cultivars had been released, and many of them are in the public domain. In the Midwest, the region with the highest productivity, cultivars developed by Embrapa are the most adopted. In the Northeast, a traditionally producing region of cowpea, low productivity is attributed to the low adoption of technologies and the predominant cultivation by family farmers. The objective of the project is to develop a technological roadmap applied to the management of technology transfer of cowpea cultivars from Embrapa Meio-Norte. The research was funded by the proposing student and supported by Embrapa Meio-Norte, which provided its infrastructure, documentary collection, and intellectual resources. It is a prospective, technological and innovation research, with a descriptive and analytical nature, carried out in three phases: a planning and preparation phase, in which a bibliographic and documentary research was carried out to structure the technological roadmap, including its architecture. Another phase of development of the technological plan, in which an internal workshop was held to identify operational gaps and perspectives to optimize technology transfer and start the elaboration of the roadmap. And a final phase, in which the construction of the technological roadmap with the routes to be followed was concluded and the final technical report was prepared. The effective contributions of the work lie in the ability of the Technology Roadmapping approach to promote discussion and interaction between the teams involved in the planning and execution of a plan to achieve the outlined objectives, and in the fact that it allows the Embrapa management board to make assertive decisions related to an optimized management of the available cowpea cultivar portfolio.
