INCONVENIENTES PALAVRAS: escrita feminina e (in)sanidade em carta à rainha louca, de Maria Valéria Rezende

Abstract

RESUMO: A presente dissertação tem como objetivo geral: pesquisar os aspectos ligados aos estudos de metaficção historiográfica, gênero e alienação no romance epistolar Carta à rainha louca (2019), de Maria Valéria Rezende (MVR). E, como objetivos específicos: analisar como MVR constrói uma personagem-escritora revisitando as questões em torno da escrita epistolar realizada por mulheres; investigar a história do Brasil colonial do século XVIII, pela ótica feminina existente no romance, através da metaficção historiográfica; bem como averiguar relações entre gênero e (in)sanidade, com base no relato da protagonista Isabel das Santas Virgens. Assim, busca-se examinar, através de Isabel, uma visão feminina do Brasil do século XVIII, focando em uma espécie de não-lugar para mulheres brancas e pobres em um contexto colonial. De acordo com Hutcheon (1991), a metaficção historiográfica se caracteriza pela apropriação de personagens e/ou de acontecimentos históricos, problematizando eventos que são tidos como verídicos. Como se sabe, a História foi por muito tempo narrada fundamentalmente sob uma perspectiva europeia, branca e masculina, portanto, a metaficção historiográfica se volta para o passado encarando-o de um modo diferente, através de perspectivas ex-cêntricas, como a de uma mulher enclausurada e tida como louca, conforme apresentado no romance. Metodologicamente, trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa de cunho bibliográfico e utilizou-se como aporte teórico as investigações de Diaz (2016), HarocheBouzinac (2016), Showalter (1987; 1994), Scott (2019), Lauretis (2019), Del Priore (1994; 1995; 2019), Hutcheon (1984; 1991), Krause (2010), Zanello (2018), Engel (2018), entre outras. Dessa forma, constatou-se que as questões abordadas no romance se mostram ainda muito pertinentes de serem analisadas na contemporaneidade, tanto para se ter uma visão mais ampla do passado, como, principalmente, para compreender e refletir sobre as desigualdades e violências contra as mulheres que ainda persistem. ABSTRACT: The present dissertation has as a general objective: to research the aspects related to the studies of historiographical metafiction, gender and alienation in the epistolary novel Carta à rainha louca (2019), by Maria Valéria Rezende (MVR). And, as specific objectives: to analyze how MVR builds a character-writer revisiting the issues around epistolary writing performed by women; to investigate the history of colonial Brazil of the eighteenth century, through the female perspective that exists in the novel, through historiographical metafiction; as well as to investigate relationships between gender and (in)sanity, based on the report of the protagonist Isabel das Santas Virgens. Thus, we seek to examine, through Isabel, a female view of eighteenth-century Brazil, focusing on a kind of non-place for poor white women in a colonial context. According to Hutcheon (1991), historiographical metafiction is characterized by the appropriation of historical characters and/or events, questioning events that are taken as true. Therefore, historiographical metafiction refers to the past in a different way, through excentered perspectives, such as the perspective of an enclosed woman who is considered crazy, as presented in the novel. In terms of methodology, this is a qualitative research of bibliographical focus and we use as theoretical support the research of Diaz (2016), HarocheBouzinac (2016), Showalter (1987; 1994), Scott (2019), Lauretis (2019), Del Priore (1994; 1995; 2019), Hutcheon (1984; 1991), Krause (2010), Zanello (2018), Engel (2018), among others. Accordingly, we find that the issues addressed in the novel are shown to be still relevant to be analyzed in contemporary times, both to have a broader view of the past, and, mainly, to understand and reflect on the inequalities and violence against women that still persist.
