A DIMENSÃO POLÍTICA NA PRODUÇÃO DO ESPAÇO NA OBRA DE JOÃO CABRAL DE MELO NETO

Abstract

RESUMO: João Cabral de Melo Neto sempre se manteve fiel ao seu projeto poético, dedicando-se a compor, pelo rigor da construção consciente, uma obra caracterizada por um discurso objetivo, de inspiração concretista. Por este esforço, recebeu o título de engenheiro da linguagem. Atenta ao rigor empreendido pelo poeta, a fortuna crítica tem lido a obra cabralina pelo que ela apresenta de matéria lógica e formal. Embora completos 100 anos de nascimento de João Cabral, a categoria espacial tem sido negligenciada, por não haver pesquisas amparadas em teorias próprias do espaço ficcional. Nesse sentido, busca-se, neste trabalho, situar e examinar a poética de João Cabral à luz de uma teoria do espaço. Pela análise do fator crítico que o poeta incumbiu à sua poesia, esta pesquisa é orientada pela premissa de que João Cabral explora pelo espaço a interface modernização-tradição impregnada na linguagem e na sociedade; essa tradição, como contraste da modernidade, ajuda a compor a imagem da exploração e da pobreza que perduram na sociedade brasileira, como um jogo político. Assim, objetiva-se investigar os mecanismos de produção do espaço na obra de João Cabral de Melo Neto a partir de uma perspectiva política e social. A metodologia parte de uma revisão bibliográfica de cunho exploratório, examinando, junto à teoria, como é que o poeta estrutura na lógica espacial de sua poética a configuração política e social. Para se alcançar esse objetivo, o trabalho apoia-se nas teorias que versam sobre espaço ficcional e manifestações de poder político dentro da literatura em relação às suas representações sociais, também em relação a literatura como objeto próprio de manifestação estético-político, não obstante como um espaço para essa manifestação. Para entendimento da categoria do espaço, a pesquisa foi direcionada por Brandão (2013), Brandão Santos e Oliveira (2001), Massagli (2015), Tuan (2013), entre outros. Para se discutir a interação entre espaço, sociedade e política, valeu-se principalmente de Lefebvre (2016a, 2016b). Das leituras da obra com o marco teórico supracitado, se reconhece espaços nacionais e internacionais manipulados por suas bases discursivas-ideológicas de poder e domínio. O poeta recifense dá a ver e compreender como a poesia brasileira e o que nela se diz/desdiz formam as concepções de mundo, bem como as concepções acerca deste lugar brasileiro no mundo.

ABSTRACT: João Cabral de Melo Neto has always remained faithful to his poetic project, dedicating himself to composing, through the rigor of conscious construction, a work characterized by an objective discourse, of concrete inspiration. For this effort, he received the title of language engineer. Attentive to the rigor undertaken by the poet, the critical fortune has read the work of Cabral for what it presents of logical and formal matter. Despite the 100th anniversary of João Cabral's birth, the spatial category has been neglected, as there is no research supported by theories of fictional space. In this sense, this work seeks to situate and examine João Cabral's poetics in the light of a theory of space. By analyzing the critical factor that the poet assigned to his poetry, this research is guided by the premise that João Cabral explores through space the modernization-tradition interface impregnated in language and society; this tradition, as a contrast to modernity, helps to compose the image of exploitation and poverty that persist in Brazilian society, as a political game. Thus, the objective is to investigate the mechanisms of space production in the work of João Cabral de Melo Neto from a political and social perspective. The methodology starts from a bibliographic review of an exploratory nature, examining, together with the theory, how the poet structures the political and social configuration in the spatial logic of his poetics. To achieve this objective, the work is based on theories that deal with fictional space and manifestations of political power within literature in relation to its social representations, also in relation to literature as a proper object of aesthetic-political manifestation, despite how a space for this manifestation. To understand the category of space, the research was directed by Brandão (2013), Brandão Santos and Oliveira (2001), Massagli (2015), Tuan (2013), among others. To discuss the interaction between space, society and politics, Lefebvre (2016a, 2016b) was mainly used. From the theoretical readings of the work, national and international spaces manipulated by their discursive-ideological bases of power and dominion can be recognized. The poet from Recife reveals and understands how Brazilian poetry and what is said/unsayed in it form conceptions of the world, as well as conceptions about this Brazilian place in the world.
