A RACIONALIDADE AMBIENTAL NO CURSO DE GESTAO AMBIENTAL DO IFPI CAMPUS TERESINA CENTRAL

Abstract

RESUMO: Com o início do novo milênio, a conservação da natureza ocupa um lugar cada vez mais destacado nos debates sobre os destinos da sociedade. Em um momento em que as sensibilidades estéticas e políticas garantem aos discursos ambientais um lugar de indubitável notoriedade, a difusão da Questão Ambiental , seja nas lutas sociais, na prática educativa, ou ainda, nas ações de organismos governamentais e internacionais, constitui grande problemática na esfera pública. Porém, as possibilidades de harmonização dos projetos sociais e estilos de vida, com os limites da capacidade de suporte e regeneração do meio ambiente ainda estão entre os grandes desafios da contemporaneidade. Nesse sentido, entende-se que as Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) não podem e nem devem se esquivar de suas responsabilidades sociais e ambientais. O presente trabalho se centraliza na discussão da gestão ambiental no âmbito de uma IES, o Instituto Federal do Piauí (IFPI) Campus Teresina Central. O problema de pesquisa tem como base a empiria da crise ambiental e se orienta pela seguinte questão: de que maneira se dá a abordagem da racionalidade ambiental no curso Superior de Gestão Ambiental do IFPI Campus Teresina Central? Sendo esse o seu objetivo principal e tendo como objetivos específicos: discorrer sobre a criação e implementação do curso de gestão Ambiental no IFPI; discutir sobre a racionalidade ambiental no IFPI Campus Teresina Central a partir de seus documentos e identificar os resultados e impactos da criação do curso no IFPI. Através de uma pesquisa qualitativa e exploratória, conclui-se que o curso trouxe grandes resultados ao IFPI, concretizados por meio de diversas parcerias com o Governo do Estado do Piauí e a Prefeitura Municipal de Teresina, porém, a nível local ainda não foi institucionalizada a questão da racionalidade ambiental de Leff.

ABSTRACT: With the beginning of the new millennium, nature conservation occupies a prominent place in the discussions concerning the destinies of society. At a time when aesthetic and political sensibilities guarantee to the environmental discourses a place of notoriety, the diffusion of the Environmental Question , whether in social struggles, educational practice, or in the actions of governmental and international organizations, is a major problem in public sphere. However, the possibilities of harmonizing social projects and lifestyles with the limits of the carrying capacity and regeneration of the environment are still among the great challenges of contemporary times. In this sense, it is understood that Higher Education Institutions (HEI) cannot and should not avoid their social and environmental responsibilities. This paper focuses on the discussion of environmental management within a higher education institution (HEI), the Federal Institute of Piauí (IFPI) - Campus Teresina Central. We discuss the environmental crisis as the main research problem with the following question: How does the approach to environmental rationality take place, particularly in the Higher Course on Environmental Management, IFPI- Campus Teresina Central? This being its main objective and having as its specific objectives: (i) discuss the creation and implementation of the Environmental Management course at IFPI; (ii) discuss the environmental rationality in the IFPI-Campus Teresina Central from their documents and identify the results and impacts of the creation of this course at IFPI. Through qualitative and exploratory research it is concluded that the course has brought positive results to IFPI, these achieved through numerous partnerships with the State Government and City Hall, but at the local level, the institution has not yet employed the Leffs environmental rationality.
