DIGNIDADE DA PESSOA HUMANA E CIDADANIA EM JOHN RAWLS

Abstract

RESUMO:O trabalho objetiva analisar a teorização de John Rawls acerca da dignidade da pessoa humana e da cidadania de acordo com a concepção política de justiça. A partir de algumas reformulações feitas em sua teoria da justiça, notadamente no conceito de sociedade e de pessoa, as temáticas da dignidade humana e da cidadania receberam um novo tratamento que procuramos expor. Entendeu-se que Rawls procurou apresentar a dignidade humana através de uma visão mais política e normativa, propondo uma concepção política de dignidade sem estar diretamente influenciada por alguma doutrina abrangente. A cidadania, por sua vez, é o status que expressa a concepção política de pessoa, que entende o cidadão como livre e igual e dotado das faculdades morais, apto para cooperar e agir com razoabilidade em uma sociedade democrática. ABSTRACT:The work aims to analyze John Rawls theorization about the dignity of the human person and citizenship according to the political conception of justice. Based on some reformulations made in his theory of justice, especially in the concept of society and the person, the themes of human dignity and citizenship received a new treatment that we seek to expose. It was understood that Rawls sought to present human dignity through a more political and normative vision, proposing a political conception of dignity without being directly influenced by any comprehensive doctrine. Citizenship, in turn, is the status that expresses the political conception of the person, which understands the citizen as free and equal and endowed with moral faculties, able to cooperate and act reasonably in a democratic society
