ACOMODAÇÃO DA VOGAL MÉDIA PRETÔNICA NA FALA DE GAÚCHOS EM SITUAÇÃO DE CONTATO DIALETAL COM TERESINENSES

Abstract

RESUMO:O presente estudo visa investigar o processo de acomodação da abertura das vogais médias pretônicas /e/ e /o/ na fala de gaúchos em contato dialetal com teresinenses, a fim de descrever as atitudes linguísticas dos informantes com relação ao novo dialeto de contato e analisar fatores linguísticos e extralinguísticos que condicionam a implementação da acomodação da abertura das vogais médias pretônicas, bem como os eventos de fala entre o gaúcho e o teresinense. Para tanto, o aporte teórico-metodológico necessário depende das contribuições da Teoria da Acomodação da Comunicação, de Giles e Ogay (2007), em consonância com a Sociolinguística Variacionista Labov (2008, [1972]) e com a Etnografia da Fala, de Hymes (1976). O tratamento das vogais tem como base os trabalhos de Camara Jr. (2007), Noll (2008), Battisti; Vieira (2010) e Bisol (2014). A investigação é pautada em uma pesquisa de campo, com orientação etnográfica, cujo corpus é constituído de entrevistas realizadas com 6 (seis) informantes gaúchos, que residem em Teresina, há no mínimo 2 (dois) anos. A técnica e o procedimento de análise utilizados foram uma adaptação de Marques (2006). Por conseguinte, usou-se a abordagem quantitativa, com o auxílio do Goldvarb X, para mensurar os dados e a abordagem qualitativa, para interpretá-los, em que se consideram, dentro do viés da acomodação, as atitudes linguísticas que os falantes gaúchos dispensam à nova situação de contato dialetal e os eventos decorrentes do contato em situação comunicativa. Os resultados da pesquisa revelam que os falantes gaúchos não acomodaram a pronúncia das vogais médias pretônicas faladas por teresinenses, na situação de contato dialetal.

ABSTRACT:The present study aims to investigate the process of accommodation of the opening of the pre-vowel vowels /e/ and /o/ in the speech of gauchos in dialectal contact with Teresinenses, in order to describe the informants' linguistic attitudes towards the new dialect of contact and to analyze linguistic and extralinguistic factors that condition the implementation of the accommodation of the pre-vowel middle vowels, as well as the speech events between the Gaucho and Teresina. To that end, the theoretical-methodological contribution required depends on the contributions of Giles and Ogay Communication Accommodation Theory (2007), in agreement with the Sociolinguistic Variation Labov (2008, [1972]) and Hymes Ethnography of Speech (1976). The treatment of the vowels is based on the works of Camara Jr. (2007), Noll (2008), Battisti; Vieira (2010) and Bisol (2014). The research is based on a field research, with ethnographic orientation, whose corpus is constituted of interviews with 6 (six) informants from Rio Grande do Sul, residing in Teresina, for at least 2 (two) years. The technique and the analysis procedure used will be an adaptation of Marques (2006). Therefore, the quantitative approach, with the aid of Goldvarb X, is used to measure the data and the qualitative approach to interpret them, considering the linguistic attitudes that the Gaucho speakers dispense with to the new situation of dialectal contact and the events resulting from contact in a communicative situation. The results of the research reveal that the Gauchos speakers did not accommodate the pronunciation of the pre-vowel vowels spoken by Teresinenses, in the situation of dialectal contact.
