Abstract:
RESUMO
A universidade, exercendo seu papel de transformadora social, deve não somente desenvolver pesquisas interdisciplinares na área socioambiental, mas também praticar em seu próprio espaço estratégias voltadas para a sustentabilidade de maneira a envolver a comunidade universitária e ser modelo para a comunidade externa. Em consonância com esse pressuposto o objetivo desta pesquisa foi identificar na Universidade Federal do Piauí quais as ações desenvolvidas voltadas para a sustentabilidade ambiental, principalmente em relação à gestão de resíduos sólidos e à implantação de um Plano de Logística Sustentável, e a partir disso propor ações para a melhoria do processo sustentável da referida Instituição Federal de Ensino Superior. A elaboração da pesquisa implicou em três etapas de estudo distintas, complementares entre si e simultaneamente realizadas: a) levantamento da bibliografia referente aos temas abordados; b) coleta de informações referentes aos documentos institucionais, material da análise do presente trabalho c) aplicação da análise de conteúdo, a partir das categorias e subcategorias elegidas com o apoio da bibliografia do trabalho. Desse modo a pesquisa é caracterizada como sendo de natureza exploratória, analítica, aplicada, descritiva e de abordagem qualitativa. A partir dos resultados o estudo revelou a dificuldade da instituição na observação de critérios sustentáveis nas licitações, a falta de adesão à Agenda Ambiental da Administração Pública e a inexistência de um Plano de Logística Sustentável para a mesma. Apesar disso, quando comparados os Relatórios de Gestão entre si, observou-se que a UFPI vem demonstrado discretos esforços em direção a implantação de um desenvolvimento mais sustentável, buscando iniciativas que buscam a obediência à legislação vigente nesse sentido.
ABSTRACT
The university, acting as a social transformer, must not only develop interdisciplinary research in the socio-environmental area, but also practice in its own space strategies aimed at sustainability in order to involve the university community and be a model for the external community. In line with this assumption, the objective of this research was to identify at the Federal University of Piauí the actions developed for environmental sustainability, mainly in relation to the solid waste management and the implementation of a Sustainable Logistics Plan, and from there propose actions for the improvement of the sustainable process of said Federal Institution of Higher Education. The elaboration of the research implied in three different stages of study, complementary to each other and simultaneously carried out: a) survey of the bibliography referring to the topics addressed; b) collection of information related to institutional documents, material of the analysis of the present work c) application of content analysis, from the categories and subcategories chosen with the support of the bibliography of the work. In this way the research is characterized as being exploratory, analytical, applied, descriptive and qualitative approach. From the results, the study revealed the difficulty of the institution in the observation of sustainable criteria in the bids, the lack of adherence to the Environmental Agenda of the Public Administration and the lack of a Sustainable Logistics Plan for the same. Nevertheless, when comparing the Management Reports with each other, it was observed that the UFPI has shown discrete efforts towards the implementation of a more sustainable development, seeking initiatives that seek to comply with the current legislation in this regard.
