DIÁSPORA CHINESA E NOVAS TERRITORIALIDADES: mobilidade, redes e comércio dos chineses em Teresina/PI

Abstract

RESUMO: As noções de diáspora(s) têm sido discutidas diretamente nas temáticas sobre mobilidade, territórios e redes, apontando para diversas áreas de estudos, inclusive a Geografia, pois, refletem sobre as recriações e as repercussões dos processos de territorializações nas experiências de realocações espaçotemporias, sendo, portanto, reeditadas na contemporaneidade. Neste sentido, realizar um estudo acerca da presença de imigrantes chineses em Teresina nos leva a algumas inquietações. Como,por exemplo, levantar uma discussão sobre o assunto da diáspora chinesa no contexto da globalização, da mobilidade, da construção de novas territorialidades e,também, discutir como se estrutura este processo de territorialização chinesa em Teresina por intermédio da atividade comercial por eles desenvolvida, pelas redes sociais mantidas ou criadas durante a migração através das práticas socioespaciais, considerando aspectos simbólicos e/ou funcionais do território. Portanto, averiguamos a integração de trabalhadores chineses no comércio de Teresina como resultado dos recentes fluxos migratórios e a relação destes com o novo lugar, que agrega a dimensão material e simbólica e as possibilidades e conquistas de acordo com a conjuntura econômica em que os lugares e indivíduos estão envolvidos. Para tanto, a presente pesquisa tem, como objetivo geral, analisar a presença dos chineses em Teresina na perspectiva da construção de uma nova territorialidade, a partir do comércio, das redes sociais resultantes da diáspora dos imigrantes chineses em Teresina. Objetivamos, especificamente, estabelecer a relação entre diáspora chinesa e o processo de territorialidade dos imigrantes chineses; compreender, sob a perspectiva da territorialidade, das redes e da mobilidade, a presença dos chineses em Teresina,e, por fim, apontar os resultados e a dinâmica da construção das redes e territorialidade dos chineses em Teresina. Para fundamentar as categorias e conceitos-chave(diáspora, território, mobilidade e redes) empregados na pesquisa, destacamos as obras de Hall (2003, 2006), Ma Mung (1999), Bhabha (1998), Haesbaert (2005, 2008, 2011, 2012), Rafestin (1993), Saquet (2008, 2015), Bauman (1999), Lefrebvre (2000), Harvey (2008). Nesta pesquisa, de natureza qualitativa e quantitativa, recorremos ao método hipotético-dedutivo, tendo em vista que procuramos compreender o fenômeno que ocorre em Teresina com a presença dos migrantes chineses, com base na observação de outros estudos no Brasil, levantando a hipótese de que, o que ocorre em Teresina, é um reflexo, mesmo que tardio, da diáspora chinesa no Brasil, destacando, assim, as particularidades e especificidades do caso empírico. Recorremos ainda ao método de pesquisa de campo, fazendo observações indiretas e levantamentos in loco, coletando informações através da aplicação de formulários com perguntas fechadas junto aos comerciantes chineses. Elaboramos, também, um mapa mostrando a espacialização dos estabelecimentos comerciais dos chineses no bairro Centro e arredores. Como resultados, verificamos que o grupo étnico chinês, especialmente no centro de Teresina, se apresenta atualmente como um grupo de imigrante que possui um número representativo de estabelecimentos comercias, de uma forma bem caracterizada e que já vem durando alguns anos. Um grupo heterogêneo, mas com forte identidade cultural, cujas relações sociais são marcadas por estereótipos, redes e solidariedade, configurando, assim, uma nova territorialidade, tanto no sentido funcional/material quanto simbólico. ABSTRACT: The notion of diaspora has been discussed directly in the mobility themes, territory and networks. Pointing to vary study areas, including Geography, because, it reflects about the recreation and the repercussions of the territorialization process in the experience in the space-time reallocation, therefore, reissued in the contemporaneity.Accomplishing a study about the presence of Chinese immigrants in Teresina lead us to some restlessness. For instance, raising a discussion about the topic Chinese diaspora in the globalization context, mobility, new territorialities constructions and, also, discuss how structures this Chinese territorialization process in Teresina through the commercial activity developed by them, the social network maintained or created during the immigration through the social-spatial practices, considering symbolic and/or functional aspects of the territory. Therefore, it was investigated the integration of Chinese workers in Teresina’s commerce as result of the recent migratory influx and the relation of these people with the new place, that aggregates the material and symbolic dimension and the possibilities and achievements according to the economic conjuncture in which the places and individuals are involved. For this purpose, the present research has, as main objective; analyze the presence of Chinese in Teresina in the perspective of a new territoriality construction, from the commerce, social network resulting from the Chinese diaspora in Teresina. It was aimed, specifically, to establish the relation between the Chinese diaspora and the Chinese immigrant process of territoriality; understand, under the perspective of territoriality, the social network and the mobility, the presence of Chinese in Teresina, and, eventually, to point the results and the dynamic of the social network and territoriality construction of the Chinese in Teresina. To support the categories and the key concepts (diaspora, territory, mobility and social network) applied in the research, it is highlighted the works of Hall (2003, 2006), Ma Mung (1999), Bhabha (1998), Haesbaert (2005, 2008, 2011, 2012), Rafestin (1993), Saquet (2008, 2015), Bauman (1999), Lefrebvre (2000), Harvey (2008). In this research, of qualitative and quantitative nature, it was used the method hypothetic-deductive, considering that it was sought to comprehend the phenomenon that occurs in Teresina with the presence of Chinese immigrants, based on the observation in others studies in Brazil, raising hypothesis that, what occurs in Teresina, is a reflex, even late, of the Chinese diaspora in Brazil, highlighting, thus, the particularities and specificities of the empiric case. It was still resorted to the method of the field research, making indirect observations and surveys in loco, collecting data through the questionnaire application with objective questions with Chinese merchant. It was also elaborated, a map showing the specialization of the Chinese business establishment downtown and surrounding areas. As preliminary results, it was verified that the Chinese ethnic group, especially downtown, presents currently as a group of immigrants that owns a representative number of business establishments, with a well characterized way and that has been lasting for some years. A heterogeneous group, but with a strong cultural identity, which the social relations are marked by internal cleavage, social network and solidarity, configuring, thus, a new territoriality, as in the functional/material sense as symbolic.
