HERMENÊUTICA E RETÓRICA EM GADAMER: Uma abordagem das ciências humanas a partir da relação entre compreensão e persuasão

Abstract

RESUMO: A presente dissertação pretende analisar a relação entre os conceitos de hermenêutica filosófica e racionalidade retórica, a partir do filósofo alemão Hans-Georg Gadamer, tendo como referência basilar a obra Verdade e método e textos posteriores a esta obra. A hipótese a ser desenvolvida é a de que a retórica é o elemento conceitual mais presente na hermenêutica filosófica gadameriana, fundando um paradigma dialógico-persuasivo de linguagem para as ciências, sobretudo, para as ciências humanas. Para sustentar a análise, apresenta três objetivos: Primeiro, identificar o desenvolvimento da hermenêutica filosófica como pressuposto para a ressignificação das ciências humanas e, para isso, é necessário evidenciar essa relação no desenvolvimento dos conceitos de consciência histórica, círculo hermenêutico, fusão de horizontes e linguisticidade. Neste momento, pretende-se encaminhar a problemática de que, na primeira parte de Verdade e Método, a tarefa da compreensão se constitui no caráter de linguagem, ou seja, na relação dialógica entre o intérprete e a tradição. Segundo, analisar a crítica à cientificidade e o papel da hermenêutica filosófica a partir da linguagem perpassada pelo conceito de retórica. Neste capítulo, irá se situar o conceito de retórica como nascente da experiência da verdade, que se revela no plano da palavra (Wort) e não pela linguagem dos enunciados. Gadamer desenvolveu em textos posteriores à Verdade e Método, uma aproximação explícita entre compreensão e persuasão, e essa postura tem a influência de pensadores como Aristóteles e Giambattista Vico. A partir das questões e conceitos pressupostos, analisamos o teor prático da retórica nas ciências humanas, em destaque a ciência jurídica. Terceiro momento identificar as aproximações e controvérsias de Gadamer a partir do debate com Habermas, pensando as relações entre retórica, interpretação e as ideologias. Ao fim desse trabalho, conclui-se que as ciências humanas munidas da interconexão entre hermenêutica e retórica é uma via para a alteridade, impõe ao intérprete uma dimensão comunicacional, desconstruindo o positivismo metodológico, deixando falar a alteridade do texto e dos fatos que se apresentam, o que permite ao intérprete escutar a fala do outro. ABSTRACT: This dissertation aims at analyzing the relationship between the concepts of philosophical hermeneutics and rhetorical rationality from the German philosopher Hans-Georg Gadamer, having as basilar reference the work Verdade e método I (Truth and Method) and later texts to this work. The hypothesis to be developed is that rhetoric is the most present conceptual element in Gadamer‘s philosophical hermeneutics, establishing a dialogic-persuasive paradigm of language for the sciences, especially for the human sciences. In order to support the analysis, three objectives are presented: First, it will identify the development of philosophical hermeneutics as a presupposition for the re-signification of the human scienses and for this it is necessary to show this relation in the development of the concepts of historical consciousness, hermeneutical circle, fusion of horizons and character of language. At this moment, it is intended to address the problem that in the first part of Verdade e Método (Truth and Method) the task of understanding is the character of language, that is, in the dialogical relationship between the interpreter and the tradition. Second, it will analyze the critique of scientificity and the role of philosophical hermeneutics from the language permeated by the concept of rhetoric. In this chapter the concept of rhetoric will be situated as the source of the experience of truth revealed in the word plane (Wort) and not trough the language of statements. Gadamer developed in text subsequent to Verdade e Método (Truth and Method) an explicit approximation between understanding and persuasion, and this posture has the influence of thinkers with Aristotle and Giambattista Vico. From the questions and concepts presupposed, it will analyze the practical content of rhetoric in the human sciences, in particular legal science. Third, it will identify the approaches and controversies of Gadamer from debate with Habermas thinking the relations between rhetoric, interpretation and ideologies. At the end of this work, it is concluded that the human sciences provided by the interconnection between hermeneutics and rhetoric is a way for otherness, imposes on the interpreter a communicational dimension, deconstructing methodological positivism, leaving aside the otherness of the text and the facts that present themselves, which allows the interpreter to listen to the speech of the other.
