ENTRE LETRAS E CANTOS: educação, história e memória cultural de Ilha Grande do Piauí na literatura Griô de Zé Santana (1970-2015)

Abstract

RESUMO: A presente dissertação resulta de pesquisa sobre a ação cultural de Raimundo José do Nascimento – o griô Zé Santana, e sua influência na educação, história e cultura do povo do município de Ilha Grande do Piauí, de 1970 a 2015 – período que compreende a trajetória de Zé Santana nas tradições culturais da citada região, desde a sua primeira atividade até a sua última participação oficial em trabalhos voltados à cultura. O objetivo geral do estudo foi interpretar a ação cultural desse griô e sua influência na educação, história e cultura dos ilhagrandenses, verificando como se deu o seu processo de formação como um educador cultural nesse território. Especificamente, almejamos: organizar o acervo escrito de Zé Santana em categorias textuais; identificar traços pertinentes à história e à memória cultural de Ilha Grande do Piauí na obra do griô em questão; analisar a ação cultural de Zé Santana como um possível educador cultural; e mostrar a importância da utilização do acervo escrito de Zé Santana como material educativo para as escolas do citado município. Mediante uma pesquisa qualitativa, orientada pelo método de Análise de Conteúdo com características do método de História Oral, o estudo abrangeu a análise da obra escrita de Zé Santana e o conteúdo de seis entrevistas realizadas com moradores de Ilha Grande do Piauí, relacionando-os com aspectos da educação, história e cultura desse povo. A base teórica contemplou: no aporte sobre história, cultura e memória, fontes como, Burke (1991; 1992; 2005), Ferro (2010), Chartier (1990), Halbwachs (1990), Santos (1994) e Werneck (2003); na metodologia foram considerados os estudos de Bardin (2016), Meihy (1996), dentre outros; e no campo educacional, foram consultados autores como, Brandão (2007), Gohn (2006), Freire (1987) e outros. A pesquisa mostrou que: a educação é um fenômeno que se manifesta para além da sala de aula; a cultura é um importante mecanismo para se mediar ações educativas em diversos contextos; o griô Zé Santana possibilitou, através do acervo escrito que produziu, bem como das ações que realizou, formas de educar a partir dos seus saberes e fazeres na comunidade de Ilha Grande do Piauí, tornando-se um educador cultural, portanto, uma referência importante para a educação e cultura dessa comunidade. ABSTRACT: This dissertation comes from the research on the cultural action of Raimundo José do Nascimento - the griot Zé Santana, and his influence on the education, history and culture of the people from the municipality of Ilha Grande do Piauí, on the period from 1970 to 2015 - that included Zé Santana's trajectory in the cultural traditions of that region, from his first activity to his last official participation in works related to culture.The main objective of the study was to interpret the cultural action of the griot and its influence on the education, history and culture of that people, verifying how his formation process as a cultural educator happened. Specifically, the following items were designed: organize the written collection of Zé Santana in textual categories; identify pertinent features related to the history and cultural memory of Ilha Grande do Piauí in the work of the griot; analyze his cultural action as a possible cultural educator; and show the importance of using his written collection as didactic material in the schools of that municipality. Through a qualitative research, guided by the Content Analysis method with characteristics of the Oral History method, the study covered the analysis of the written work of Zé Santana and the content of six interviews done with residents of Ilha Grande do Piauí, relating them with aspects of the education, history and culture.The theoretical basis included: in relation to history, culture and memory, sources such as Burke (1991, 1992, 2005), Ferro (2010), Chartier (1990), Halbwachs (1990), Santos (1994) and Werneck (2003); coming to the methodology the studies which were considered embody Bardin (2016), Meihy (1996), among others; and in the educational field, authors such as Brandão (2007), Gohn (2006), Freire (1987) and others.The research has shown that: education is a phenomenon that is evident beyond the classroom; culture is an important mechanism to mediate educational actions in many contexts; the griot Zé Santana, through his written collection, as well as the actions he performed, enabled ways of educating based on his knowledge and actions in the community of Ilha Grande do Piauí, becoming a cultural educator, therefore, an important reference for the education and culture of that community.
