A MORTE DO CARTEIRO E OUTRAS HISTÓRIAS: crimes e masculinidades em Teresina nas décadas de 1970 e 1980

Abstract

RESUMO: Este trabalho é uma análise sobre quatro crimes ocorridos na cidade de Teresina nas décadas de 1970 e 1980. O estudo busca entender por que os assassinatos de três rapazes e o desaparecimento de um outro tiveram ampla repercussão na cidade. Um ponto em comum a todos os casos era uma suposta homossexualidade das vítimas. Tal suposição nos ajuda a entender por que ao longo das investigações a polícia associou os crimes à sexualidade das vítimas. A partir dos quatro episódios, é possível identificar comportamentos que poucos anos antes do primeiro crime, em 1977, não eram estampados nas manchetes dos jornais como sendo manifestações associadas à homossexualidade. As investigações policiais passaram a fazer conexões entre os crimes e os lugares que as vítimas frequentavam, com grupos de amigos. As quatro histórias nos fazem refletir sobre a relação entre as mudanças comportamentais na cidade de Teresina com a sociedade de um modo mais amplo. ABSTRACT: This work is an analysis on four crimes occu rred in the city of Teresina in the decades of 1970 and 1980. The study seeks to understand why the murders of three young boys, and the disappearance of another had wide repercussions in the city. One point in common to all the cases was an alleged homosexuality of victims. Such an assumption helps us to understand why along the investigations the police joined the crimes the sexuality of victims. From the four episodes it is possible to identify behaviors that a few years before the first crime, in 1977, were not stamped the headlines as being manifestations associated with homosexuality. The police investigations began to make connections between the crimes and the places that the victims were attending, with groups of friends. The four stories make us reflect on the relationship between the behavioral changes in the city of Teresina with the company of a more broadly.
