FESTAS, HINOS E MARCHAS: constituição do patriotismo e o serviço militar no Piauí (1935 -1945)

Abstract

RESUMO: A dissertação apresenta um estudo sobre as festas cívico-militares que aconteceram no Piauí nos anos de 1935 a 1945, tendo como objetivo principal analisar o modo como a produção das comemorações cívicas e militares foram utilizadas na constituição de memórias e de representações nacionais, impostas pela interventoria de Leônidas de Castro Melo e de grupos aliados. Para viabilizar a execução da proposta, o texto aborda as solenidades em louvor a Getúlio Vargas e ao interventor piauiense, as inaugurações de obras feitas em momentos festivos, a participação dos estudantes em festividades escolares, as so lenidades utilizadas na legitimação de regime político, os eventos militares que proclamavam o serviço militar e, por fim, os confrontos de memórias, possibilitados a partir do cruzamento das fontes oficiais com as entrevistas. Os eventos cívico-militares eram coordenados para serem dias de amor patriótico, envolvendo os piauienses, sobretudo a juventude, na contemplação de conferências, na participação em paradas escolares, nas festividades em favor do ingresso na caserna, nas provas esportivas, na ginástica, no canto de hinos, entre outros. Nesta pesquisa, foram utilizadas as seguintes fontes: jornais locais, revistas, mensagens governamentais, relatórios municipais, boletins internos, boletins regimentais, boletins do exército, fotografias e depoimentos. As categorias teórico-metodológicas utilizadas foram: memória, representações, invenção das tradições, história oral. ABSTRACT: The dissertation presents a study of civil-military that have happened in Piauí in the years 1935 to 1945, having as main objective to analyze how the production of civil and military celebrations feasts were used in the formation of memories and national representations, imposed by interventoria Leô nidas Castro Melo and allied groups. To facilitate the implementation of the proposal, the text discusses the feasts in honor of Getú lio Vargas and Piauí intervenor, the openings of works done on festive occasio ns, student participation in school celebrations, ceremonies used in the legitimation of political regime, the events military who proclaimed military service and, finally, the clashes of memories, made possible from crossing from official sources with interviews. The civilian-military events were coordinated to be days of patriotic love, involving Piauí, especially youth, in contemplation of conferences, participation in school parades, festivities in favor of entering the barracks, in sports events, in gymnastics, in corners of hymns, among others. In this research, the following sources were used: local newspapers, magazines, government posts, municipal reports, internal newsletters, regimental newsletters, bulletins Army, photographs and testimonials. The theoretical and methodological categories were used: memory, representation, invention of traditions, oral history.
