A ORGANIZAÇÃO RETÓRICA DA SEÇÃO DE CONSIDERAÇÕES FINAIS DO GÊNERO MONOGRAFIA EM COMUNIDADES DISCIPLINARES DISTINTAS

Abstract

RESUMO: Os gêneros se constituem como formas de realizar nossas ações linguisticamente. Dessa maneira, cada esfera da atividade humana possui características específicas, por isso os textos são elaborados conforme as exigências do contexto. Os textos que circulam na esfera acadêmica apresentam-se como forma de desenvolver e divulgar o conhecimento científico. Diante disso, o gênero selecionado para esta pesquisa foi a monografia de conclusão de curso de graduação que vem ganhando espaço no contexto universitário, pois se configura como requisito para obtenção de graus acadêmicos a nível de graduação nas mais diversas áreas e instituições de ensino superior. Todavia, ainda existem poucas pesquisas que abordam as características das monografias, mais precisamente da seção de Considerações Finais. Além disso, há uma escassez de estudos que reflitam sobre a aprendizagem desse gênero por membros iniciantes da comunidade acadêmica. Nesta dissertação, a partir da comparação entre Considerações Finais de monografias das áreas de Computação e Letras/Linguística, delineamos como objetivo geral investigar a organização retórica da referida seção nas diferentes áreas. Como objetivos específicos, identificar e descrever os movimentos retóricos presentes na seção; verificar os recursos léxico-gramaticais mais recorrentes nos movimentos e passos que compõem a seção; analisar, comparativamente, as descrições sociorretóricas das duas culturas, além de identificar a percepção de orientadores e orientandos acerca da função da seção de Considerações Finais. Como direcionamento teórico, nos embasamos na proposta teórico-metodológica de Swales (1990) sobre gêneros no contexto acadêmico e comunidade discursiva, nas considerações de Hyland (2000, 2008 e 2009) acerca da noção de cultura disciplinar, nas contribuições de Rêgo (2012) e Pereira (2012) sobre a escrita de monografias de graduação e ainda nas formulações de Yang e Allison (2003), Bunton (2005) e Araújo (2006) para análise das seções de Considerações Finais de artigos e teses. Constituímos o corpus com quarenta exemplares da seção de Considerações Finais de monografias, sendo vinte da área de Computação e vinte da área de Letras/Linguística. O material foi disponibilizado pela Universidade Estadual do Piauí, Campus Alexandre Alves de Oliveira. Como critério para seleção dos textos optamos por não repetir os orientadores. Para identificar as unidades retórico-funcionais nas seções selecionadas, observamos as pistas léxico-gramaticais e os próprios conteúdos dispostos no texto. Os resultados evidenciaram algumas influências das culturas disciplinares na organização das informações nas seções, o que resultou em dois modelos de descrição retórica, os quais diferem entre si quanto à disposição dos passos retóricos. Os depoimentos dos orientadores e orientandos confirmaram o caráter de iniciação científica do gênero monografia, além de comprovar também a importância de informações relacionadas aos resultados, contextualização e pesquisas futuras...................ABSTRACT: The genres constitute as a way of performing our actions linguistically. In this manner, each sphere of human activity possesses specific characteristics, and that is why texts follow the context’s exigencies. The texts that run through the academic circles present themselves as a way of developing and spreading scientific knowledge. Whereupon, the selected genre for this research was the undergraduate degree completion monograph, one that grows on university context, as it is a requirement for obtaining an undergraduate degree in several areas and higher education institutions. However, there are still few researches about the characteristics of monographs, more precisely the Final Considerations section. Besides that, few studies reflect upon the learning of this genre by beginners of the academic community. On this dissertation, starting from the comparison of Final Considerations of monographs in the areas of Computer Science and Linguistics, we delineate as the general goal investigating the rhetorical organization of the referred section on different areas. As specific objectives, identifying and describing the rhetorical movements present on the section; analyzing, comparatively, the socio-rhetorical descriptions of the two cultures, besides identifying the perception of advisors and students about the function of the Final Considerations section. As theoretical guiding, we based on the theoretical-methodological proposal of Swales (1990) about genres in academic context and the discursive community, on the considerations of Hyland (2000, 2008 and 2009) about the notion of disciplinary culture, on the contributions of Rêgo (2012) and Pereira (2012) about the writing of undergraduate degree monographs and still on the formulations of Yang and Allison (2003), Bunton (2005) and Araújo (2006) for the analysis of Final Considerations sections on papers and thesis. We constituted the corpus with forty copies of the Final Considerations of monographs, twenty from Computer Science and twenty from Linguistics. The material was made available by the Universidade Estadual do Piauí, Campus Alexandre Alves de Oliveira. As a criterion for text selection, we opted for not repeating the advisors. To identify the rhetorical-functional unities on the selected sections we observed the lexical-grammatical hints and the contents of the text itself. The results showed some influences of disciplinary cultures on the organization of the information on the sections, what resulted in two models of rhetorical description, which differ about the disposition of the rhetorical steps. The testimonies of the advisors and students confirmed the feature of scientific research of the monograph genre, besides also checking the importance of information related to the results, contextualizing and future researches.
