A HISTÓRIA DA EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA COMO DISCIPLINA ESCOLAR NO PIAUI: de 1939 a 1975

Abstract

RESUMO: Esta é uma pesquisa documental, de cunho histórico, tendo como objeto central de investigação a história da Educação Física como disciplina nas escolas públicas do Piauí, no período de 1939 a 1975, e a constituição do seu corpo docente. A Educação Física Escolar foi inserida como disciplina nas matrizes curriculares no Brasil no século XX, por volta do ano de 1929, sendo que no Piauí a inserção da Educação Física nas Escolas ocorreu a partir de 1939, pelo decreto lei 168, de 3 de Abril de 1939, publicado no Diário Oficial do Estado nº 77, que criou a Inspetoria de Educação Física do Estado do Piauí e incluiu a Educação Física diretamente subordinada ao Departamento de Ensino. A delimitação inicial do recorte temporal dessa pesquisa justifica-se pela inserção, em 1939, da disciplina Educação Física no currículo escolar piauiense. O recorte final, em 1975, foi definido considerando o início da formação da primeira turma de professores de Educação Física da Universidade Federal do Piauí. Nosso trabalho procura contribuir com os estudos relacionados à história da educação física, analisando como ocorreu a inserção da disciplina Educação Física e a formação dos professores dessa disciplina no contexto da escola pública no Piauí. Foram interpretados os relatórios, regulamentos, regimentos e decretos de ensino referentes à instrução pública da época. Além desses documentos, utilizamos fontes orais através de entrevista tópica e semi-estruturada. Foram escolhidos três professores de Educação Física, que participaram, contribuíram e vivenciaram o período da construção da Educação Física no Piauí. A pesquisa fundamentou-se em obra teórico-metodologicamente da História da Educação Física, em Norbert Elias (1994), Jacques Le Goff (1996), Marinho(1943, 1952, 1956 e 1980), Ferreira Neto (1996), Pagni(1996), Castellani Filho (1996) e outros. Tratando da periodização da Educação Física como disciplina, no Piauí, buscamos dialogar com o Trabalho de dissertação de Araújo(1996) e Tese de doutorado de Melo(2009).Este estudo se apresenta em três capítulos: o primeiro trata do percurso histórico da Educação Física, a partir da historiografia da Educação Física no Brasil, observando a construção da periodização da disciplina, a caminhada da educação física sob a égide de sua legalidade. O segundo discute e analisa como se configurou a inserção da disciplina Educação Física no contexto das escolas públicas no Estado do Piauí, apontando indícios que explicam as contradições que marcaram a inserção dessa disciplina nas referidas escolas. O terceiro analisa a formação do professor de Educação Física desde os cursos promovidos pela Escola Nacional de Educação Física, pelo curso especial de Educação Física da Inspetoria de Educação Física, no período de 1939 a 1945, pela Escola de Educação Física do Exército e pelos cursos emergenciais, no período da ditadura militar, até o curso de Educação Física na modalidade licenciatura curta da Universidade Federal do Piauí. E, por fim, é imprescindível reconhecermos que o universo da História é uma história reinventada, fixando os olhos no presente, indagando o passado. O que se pretendeu neste trabalho de pesquisa foi verificar e responder o nosso questionamento como se deu a configuração da educação física no Piauí. Concluímos que não foi diferente do restante do Brasil, do ponto de vista da legalidade, mas diferente na sua legitimidade. ABSTRACT: This research is documental, of historical feature, it has as main objective to investigate the history of the Physical Education as subject in the public schools of Piauí, in the period between 1939 and 1975, and the constitution of its teachers. The School Physical Education was inserted as subject in the curriculum matrixes in Brasil in XX century, next to the year of 1929, and in Piauí the inclusion of the Physical Education in the schools occurred since 1939, through the decree law 168, of April 3 of 1939, published in the Oficial Daily of the State n. 77, which created the Inspection of Physical Education of Piauí State and it included Physical Education directly subordinated to the Teaching Department. The initial delimitation of the temporal Mark of this research it’s justified for the inclusion, in 1939, of the Physical Education subject in the Piauiense school curriculum. The final mark, in 1975, was defined considering the beginning of the formation of the first class of Physical Education of the Universidade Federal of Piauí. This paperwork intends contribute with the studies related to history of physical education studies, analyzing how the inclusion of the Physical Education subject occurred and the formation of the teachers of that subject in the context of the public school in Piauí. Reports were interpreted, as well as regulations, regiments and decrees of teaching referring to the public education of that period. Besides these documents, oral sources were used through topic and semi- structured interview. Three Physical Education teachers were chosen who participated, contributed and experimented the period of the construction of the Physical Education in Piauí. The research was based on theoretical and methodologically of the History of Physical Education, by Norbert Elias (1994), Jacques Le Goff (1996), Marinho(1943, 1952, 1956 and 1980), Ferreira Neto (1996), Pagni(1996), Castellani Filho (1996) and other ones. Treating of the period of the Physical Education as subject, in Piauí, we intended to dialog with the dissertation by Araújo(1996) and Doctoral Thesis by Melo(2009). This study contains three chapters: the first one treats the historical trajectory of the Physical Education, apart the history of the Physical Education in Brasil, observing the construction of the period line of the subject, the way of the physical education under the domain of its legalization. The second one discusses and analyzes how was the configuration of inclusion of the Physical Education subject in the context of the public schools in Piauí State, pointing signs that explain the contradictions that marked the insertion of that subject in the mentioned schools. The third chapter analyzes the formation of the Physical Education Teacher since the courses done by the National School of Physical Education, by the especial course of Physical Education of the Inspection of Physical Education, in the period of 1939 to 1945, by the Physical Education School of the Army and by the emergency courses, in the dictatorial military period, until the Physical Education course in the modality short degree of the Universidade Federal of Piauí. And, at last, it’s necessary to comprehend that History universe is a reinvented history, pricing the eyes in the present, asking the past. What it was intended in this paperwork was to verify and answer the question about how the configuration of physical education in Piauí happened. We conclude it wasn’t different from the rest of Brasil, from the standpoint of the legality, but different in its legitimacy.
