PERCEPÇÃO E VULNERABILIDADE SOCIOAMBIENTAL NO BAIRRO OLARIAS, TERESINA -PI.

Abstract

RESUMO: Partindo do pressuposto de que o homem, individual ou coletivamente, estabelece importantes relações com o ambiente sócio-físico no qual está inserido, e que estas relações são de extrema importância para a sua sobrevivência, esta pesquisa tem como objetivo analisar, por meio da percepção de seus habitantes, como os moradores do bairro Olarias se relacionam com o ambiente em que vivem. Os objetivos específicos são: discutir sob a ótica da educação ambiental o Programa Lagoas do Norte (PLN), implantado na região; caracterizar a área de estudo, quanto ao perfil socioeconômico dos moradores, aspectos físico-naturais e infraestrutura física existente; analisar aspectos afetivos, simbólicos e funcionais da relação entre moradores e o entorno; verificar as percepções dos moradores acerca de problemas socioambientais locais e riscos relacionados; e investigar como os moradores lidam com os problemas socioambientais e riscos do lugar. A pesquisa apresentou metodologia qualitativa, e engloba pesquisa documental, realização de entrevistas semi estruturadas com os moradores, às quais foram analisadas segundo a técnica de Análise de Conteúdo, e anotações em diário de campo referentes às visitas ao local. Os resultados indicaram a existência de importantes vínculos de base funcional, afetiva e simbólica entre moradores e o entorno, os quais influenciam o modo de perceber os problemas socioambientais locais, assim como as formas de enfrentamento dos mesmos. As ações do PLN, no entanto, especialmente no que diz respeito ao reassentamento involuntário da população local, têm provocado abalos nestes vínculos, ressaltando a importância de que as relações homem-ambiente sejam consideradas nas diversas políticas públicas, inclusive aquelas voltadas para a educação ambiental. ABSTRACT: On the assumption that man, individually or collectively, establishes important relations with the socio-physical environment in which it is inserted, and that these relationships are extremely important for their survival, this research aims to analyze, through the perception of its inhabitants, as the inhabitants of the Olarias district relate to the environment in which they live. The specific objectives are: to discuss the perspective of environmental education the North Lakes Program (PLN), deployed in the region; characterize the study area, the socioeconomic profile of the inhabitants, physical and natural aspects and existing physical infrastructure; analyze affective, symbolic and functional aspects of the relationship between residents and the environment; verify the perceptions of residents about local environmental issues and related risks; and investigate how the locals deal with environmental problems and risks of the place. The research presented qualitative methodology, and includes documentary research, conducting semi structured interviews with residents, which were analyzed according to the content analysis technique, and notes in field diary relating to site visits. The results indicated the existence of significant functional base links, affective and symbolic between residents and the environment, which influence the way we perceive the local environmental problems, as well as ways of coping with them. The PLN's actions, however, especially with regard to involuntary resettlement of the local population, have caused concussions these ties, stressing the importance of the human-environment relations are considered in the various public policies, including those related to environmental education.
