A DIALÉTICA DO PODER NA RELAÇÃO ENTRE RESISTÊNCIA E REPRESSÃO NA OBRA OS QUE BEBEM COMO OS CÃES, DE ASSIS BRASIL

Abstract

RESUMO: A produção literária brasileira escrita durante o regime político de Ditadura Militar é, ainda, um tema que, apesar de diversos estudos feitos, merece atenção da crítica literária, no sentido de buscar, nas obras produzidas nesse período, uma análise que ressalte o contexto em que foram criadas, não como determinante de sua criação, mas como elemento intrínseco a esse processo criativo. Assim, mais importante que enquadrar uma obra como objeto de denúncia de uma realidade, como a repressão militar de um país, dentre tantos outros que vivenciaram essa realidade, é analisá-la quanto ao seu poder de criação, a fim de reconhecer nela não o homem e a sociedade historicamente situados, mas o homem e a sociedade que poderiam ser, na visão criadora do autor. É com essa intenção que esta dissertação se propôs a analisar a obra Os que bebem como os cães, de Assis Brasil. Para tanto, aplicamos conceitos fundamentais da Genealogia do Poder, de Michel Foucault, objetivando interpretar as relações de poder existentes na ficção, como temas extraídos do contexto social em que ela foi produzida e como elementos específicos e necessários à tessitura da obra literária. Para essa análise, consideraremos o método crítico de Antonio Candido como viés metodológico, segundo o qual os fatores não-literários, e, portanto, externos à obra, tornam-se internos, ou seja, passam a fazer parte de sua estrutura, em conjunto com os elementos internos peculiares ao fazer literário, para exprimir uma visão de homem e de sociedade. Apresentamos também um olhar sobre estudos feitos sobre o engajamento e a literatura de resistência – o primeiro, a partir de Benoit Denis e o segundo, da visão de Alfredo Bosi – para entender como a literatura resistiu a essa época de cerceamento da liberdade de expressão, como a ditadura militar brasileira. Dentro dessa perspectiva, constatamos que o ato de escrever, no processo de criação, é um ato de resistir a toda uma realidade que se afirma aos olhos do escritor, seja ela vivida ou imaginada por ele. Nesse sentido, se o contexto de produção é desfavorável à liberdade criadora, tanto mais resistente torna-se essa criação. ABSTRACT: The Brazilian literary work written during the Militar dictatorship is, still, a subject which, despite all the studies done, deserves the literary criticism attention, in the sense of searching an analysis that point out the context in which it was not done as their determiners, but as internal element in this creative process. Thus, more important than name a work as object of a current protest like the militar repression of a country among others, is to analyse it through its power of creation, in other to recognize not the man and the historical society in which he is situated but the man and society imagined by the author. In this propose, this paper thesis to analyse the literary production Os que bebem como os cães, by Assis Brasil. Thus, we applied the fundamental concepts of The Genealogy of Power, by Michel Foucault in order to interpret the relations of power, present in the ficcion, as theme taken from the social context in which it was produced and also, as elements, specific and necessary, to the literary subject. For this analysis, we considered Antonio Candido’s critical method as a methodological function according to what the non–literary elements become internal, that means, make part of its structure, in a set of internal elements which belong to a literary work, in order to express a view of the man and the society. Here we also present some studies done about the engadment and the literature of resistance – the first one, from the Benoit Denis and the second one from the view of Alfredo Bosi – to understand how the literature resisted to this period of ban in freedom of speech, like Brazilian Militar dictatorship. In this perspective we could see that the writing act in the process of creation is an act of resisting the reality firmed by the writer’s view, which could be lived or imagined by him. Thus, if the context of production is unfavorable to the creator freedom, more resistant become its creation.
