RESPOSTA AO ESTRESSE POR CALOR EM CAPRINOS COM BASE EM DADOS LONGITUDINAIS DE FÊMEAS ANALISADA COM MODELO MISTO E AJUSTE DE VARIÂNCIA RESIDUAL

Abstract

RESUMO A produção animal pode ser limitada pelas condições climáticas, principalmente em decorrência do impacto de estresse térmico, que pode variar em função da condição fisiológica dos animais. Objetivou-se com essa pesquisa avaliar a resposta de adaptação de caprinos a ambiente quente, com base em parâmetros fisiológicos Temperatura retal, Frequências cardíaca e respiratória, como medidas repetidas em fêmeas. Analisou-se individualmente as características com modelos mistos (modelo de repetibilidade) considerando-se como fixos os efeitos de ano e estação de coleta, o estado fisiológico (gestante ou não gestante), tamanho corporal (Frame) e de idade e, como aleatório o efeito de animal. Analisou-se também modelando-se o resíduo considerando ou não classes de idade do animal. Estimou-se a contribuição de cada efeito fixo significativo sobre a média do parâmetro e também do efeito de animal. Considerou-se como positivo usar a modelagem do resíduo e constatou-se efeito mais pronunciado da condição gestação, com ênfase na maior sensibilidade durante o período mais quente do ano. Não houve efeito de idade. A amplitude da variação dos três parâmetros fisiológicos não excede a faixa apresentada por caprinos em ambiente quente, indicando animal adaptado às condições de ambiente avaliado. O efeito da condição fisiológica foi importante, com a gestação relacionada a mais sensibilidade a ambiente quente. Portanto, mostrou ser uma fase da vida do animal que pode ser usada para indicar desconforto térmico em ambiente quente.

ABSTRACT Animal production can be limited by climatic conditions, mainly due to the impact of heat stress, which can vary depending on the physiological condition of the animals. The objective of this research was to evaluate the adaptation response of goats to a hot environment, based on physiological parameters Rectal temperature, heart and respiratory rates, as repeated measures in females. The characteristics were analyzed individually with mixed models (repeatability model) considering as fixed the effects of year and season of collection, the physiological state (pregnant or not pregnant), body size (Frame) and age and, as random the animal effect. It was also analyzed by modeling the residue considering or not the age classes of the animal. The contribution of each significant fixed effect on the parameter mean and also on the animal effect was estimated. It was considered positive to use residue modeling and a more pronounced effect of the pregnancy condition was observed, with an emphasis on greater sensitivity during the hottest period of the year. There was no age effect. The amplitude of the variation of the three physiological parameters does not exceed the range presented by goats in a hot environment, indicating an animal adapted to the conditions of the evaluated environment. The effect of physiological condition was important, with pregnancy related to more sensitivity to a hot environment. Therefore, it proved to be a phase of the animal's life that can be used to indicate thermal discomfort in a hot environment.
