O JORNAL A LUTA E AS REPRESENTAÇÕES DA CIDADE DE CAMPO MAIOR (1967-1979)

Abstract

RESUMO: O presente estudo analisou a trajetória do jornal A Luta e suas representações da cidade de Campo Maior durante os anos de 1967 a 1979. Nesse sentido, discutimos o contexto de surgimento do jornal A Luta e os grupos responsáveis por sua redação. Assim, analisamos as representações construídas sobre as intervenções urbanas realizadas em Campo Maior que ganharam bastante destaque no periódico, como, por exemplo, a construção do Mercado Municipal, do Terminal Rodoviário e do Monumento aos Heróis do Jenipapo. Desse modo, discorremos sobre a urbanização da cidade de Campo Maior a partir das matérias jornalísticas que tratam sobre as práticas cotidianas, questionando em que medida o periódico dava ênfase à energia elétrica. Como fontes históricas, utilizamos matérias jornalísticas, colunas de opinião e propagandas publicadas no jornal A Luta, bem como fotografias produzidas no recorte estudado. O estudo toma como aporte teórico-metodológico a perspectiva da História Cultural e História da Imprensa a partir da interlocução com Chartier (1998), Pesavento (2004), Abreu (2008), Barbosa (2007), Ribeiro (2003), e Capelato (2015). Para analisar a relação entre memória e identidade, recorremos aos estudos de Le Goff (2003), Seixas (2004) e Pollak (1992). Para estudar a urbanização da cidade e o espaço urbano recorremos aos estudos de Rezende (2016), Fontineles (2015), Nascimento (2007), Corrêa (2004), Carlos (2001), entre outros.

ABSTRACT: The present study analyzed the newspaper A Luta’s trajectory and its representations of the city of Campo Maior during the years from 1967 to 1979. In this sense, we discuss the context of the newspaper A Luta’s emergence and the groups responsible for its writing. Thus, we analyzed the representations built on the urban interventions carried out in Campo Maior that gained considerable attention in the periodical, such as, for example, the construction of the Municipal Market, the Bus Terminal, and the Heroes of Jenipapo Monument. In this way, we discuss the city of Campo Maior’s urbanization based on journalistic articles that deal with daily practices, questioning to what extent the periodical gave emphasis to electric energy. As historical sources, we used journalistic materials, opinion columns and advertisements published in the newspaper A Luta, as well as photographs produced in the studied period. The study takes as a theoretical-methodological contribution the perspective of Cultural History and History of the Press from the dialogue with Chartier (1998), Pesavento (2004), Abreu (2008), Barbosa (2007), Ribeiro (2003), and Capelato (2015). To analyze the relationship between memory and identity, we turned to studies by Le Goff (2003), Seixas (2004) and Pollak (1992). To study city urbanization and urban space, we resort to studies by Rezende (2016), Fontineles (2015), Nascimento (2007), Corrêa (2004), Carlos (2001), among others.
