A CONSTRUÇÃO DA FIGURA DO LOUCO NO PIAUÍ NO JORNAL O DIA: um panorama de 1970 a 2019

Abstract

RESUMO: O presente trabalho tem como objetivo compreender como se dá a construção da figura do louco no Piauí por meio de matérias jornalísticas do Jornal O Dia que fazem referência à loucura. A pesquisa tem como marco temporal e espacial a Reforma Psiquiátrica no Brasil, movimento que tomou força na segunda metade da década de 1970 e busca substituir o modelo hospitalocêntrico-manicomial por um atendimento descentralizado, multiprofissional e desenvolvido a partir de políticas públicas de saúde mental. Partindo disso, esta dissertação tem como recorte temporal o período iniciado em 1º de janeiro de 1970 e finalizado em 31 de dezembro de 2019. Nesse sentido, parte-se de uma contextualização histórica sobre a loucura no mundo, compreendendo como se constitui a figura do louco, como se deu e como se dá essa fabricação que atinge diretamente o entendimento social piauiense sobre a pessoa considerada louca e suas variáveis. A pesquisa tem como guia metodológico a formação discursiva desenvolvida por Michel Foucault (2005) a fim de identificar determinadas construções simbólicas existentes nos enunciados analisados. Como resultado da pesquisa, identificamos que a construção da figura do louco no Piauí por meio do Jornal O Dia aconteceu de modo a cristalizar o senso comum que associa a figura do louco à periculosidade, à agressividade, à dependência e à instabilidade. Observamos que o louco é representado, em sua maioria, reforçando os estigmas existentes relacionados constantemente às pessoas com transtornos mentais e que uma pequena parcela das notícias analisadas revelam uma preocupação jornalística em desconstruir esses estigmas.

ABSTRACT: The present work aims to understand how the construction of the figure of the madman in Piauí takes place from journalistic articles in the newspaper O Dia that refer to madness. The research has as a temporal and spatial landmark the Psychiatric Reform in Brazil, a movement that took force in the second half of the 1970s and seeks to replace the hospital -center-asylum model with decentralized, multiprofessional care and developed based on public mental health policies. From this, the present work has as a time frame the date between January 1, 1970 and December 31, 2019. In this sense, it starts from a historical contextualization about madness in the world, understanding how the figure of the mad person is constituted, how this fabrication took place and how it directly affects the social understanding of Piauí about the person considered crazy and his variables. The research has as a methodological guide the discursive formation developed by Michel Foucault (2005), in order to identify certain symbolic constructions existing in the analyzed statements. As a result of the research, we identified that the construction of the figure of the madman in Piauí in the newspaper O Dia took place in order to crystallize the common sense that associates the figure of t he madman with dangerousness, aggressiveness, dependence and instability. We identified that the crazy person is represented mostly, in order to reinforce the existing stigmas, constantly associated with people with mental disorders and that, a small part of the analyzed news reveals a journalistic concern in deconstructing these stigmas.
