DE SOCIEDADE EMPREENDEDORA A BAIRRO: o socopo e a expansão urbana de Teresina no sentido leste durante a segunda metade do século XX

Abstract

RESUMO: A presente pesquisa analisa o crescimento urbano de Teresina em direção à sua zona Leste e destaca os processos políticos, econômicos e sociais que levaram o povoado Socopo a se tornar bairro pertencente a esta zona da cidade. O recorte da segunda metade do século XX se justifica por neste período se verificar efetivas mudanças na ocupação do lugar em análise. Metodologicamente se adotou a pesquisa de campo guiada pelos preceitos defendidos pela metodologia da história oral, que se voltam à analisar as memórias de sujeitos que vivenciaram o passado e que, por meio da oralidade, elaboram fontes orais a respeito do tema em estudo, bem como se utilizou também a pesquisa e análise documental, que foi realizada a partir de um cabedal de diferentes tipos de fontes, a citar: os jornais O Dia, Jornal do Piauí, Diário de Notícias e Correio do Nordeste, as revistas O Cruzeiro, A Noite Ilustrada e Almanaque do Cariri, os censos demográficos do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), as fotografias temáticas que registraram o cotidiano dos moradores do bairro, as leis instituídas a nível nacional (Lei nº 4 380/64, Lei 5.107/67) e municipal (Lei nº 1932/88, Lei nº 1933/88, Lei nº 1934/88) no que tange a legislação urbana e a regulamentação do solo no Brasil e em Teresina e mapas da cidade. Para realização deste estudo, se lançou mão da análise das categorias história e memória, desenvolvidas por Marc Bloch (2001), Pierre Nora (1984), Paul Ricceur (2007) e os conceitos de cidade, urbanização e bairro, defendidos por Ana Fani Alessandri Carlos (2001 e 2018), Antônio Risério (2013), Kingsley Davis (1972), Milton Santos (2018) e Pierre Mayol (1996). Em virtude disso, o estudo revela histórias e memórias do bairro Socopo a partir dos diferentes discursos construídos pelas fontes oficiais e pelos relatos orais. O bairro, então, é apresentado em suas particularidades históricas, o que o coloca em lugar de destaque perante os demais bairros que se formaram em seus arredores na zona leste de Teresina. ABSTRACT: This research addresses the urban growth of Teresina towards its East zone and highlights the political, economic and social processes that led the Socopo village to rise to the category of neighborhood belonging to this area of the city. The selection of the period between the 1950s and 1980s is justified by the fact that during this period there are effective changes in the occupation of the place in analysis. Methodologically, field research was adopted, guided by the precepts advocated by the methodology of oral history, which focus on the investigation of the memories of subjects who experienced the past and who, through orality, develop oral sources on the subject under study, as well as documentary research and analysis was also used, which was carried out from a variety of different types of sources, to quote: the newspapers O Dia, Jornal do Piauí, Diário de Notícias and Correio do Nordeste, the magazines O Cruzeiro, A Noite Ilustrada and Almanaque do Cariri, the demographic censuses of the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), thematic photographs that recorded the daily lives of the residents of the neighborhood and the laws instituted at national level (Law No. 4 380/64, Law 5,107 / 67 ) and municipal (Law nº 1932/88, Law nº 1933/88, Lei nº 1934/88) regarding urban legislation and soil regulation in Brazil and Teresina and city maps. To carry out this study, we used the analysis of the categories history and memory, developed by Marc Bloch (2001), Pierre Nora (1984), Paul Ricceur (2007) and the concepts of city, urbanization and neighborhood, defended by Ana Fani Alessandri Carlos (2001 and 2018), Antônio Risério (2013), Kingsley Davis (1972), Milton Santos (2018) and Pierre Mayol (1996). As a result, the study reveals stories and memories of the Socopo neighborhood from the different speeches constructed by official sources and oral reports. The neighborhood, then, is presented in its historical particularities, which places it in a prominent place before the other neighborhoods that were formed in its surroundings in the eastern zone of Teresina.
