ESTADO DA ARTE DAS QUESTÕES SOCIOAMBIENTAIS URBANAS NOS EVENTOS CIENTÍFICOS DA GEOGRAFIA BRASILEIRA (2008-2017)

Abstract

RESUMO:Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo geral analisar o Estado da Arte das questões socioambientais urbanas a partir dos eventos científicos da Geografia brasileira, abarcando um recorte temporal correspondente a dez anos (2008-2017). Indicam-se como objetivos específicos: (i) discutir as concepções acerca do estudo da relação sociedade-natureza no pensamento geográfico, situando a configuração da perspectiva socioambiental; (ii) verificar a partir de quais enfoques temáticos as questões socioambientais urbanas têm sido abordadas nos eventos científicos; (iii) indicar as particularidades e tendências desta produção científica perante a temática em evidência. Os eventos analisados foram: ENG; SBGFA; SIMPURB; SBCG; ENANPEGE e SINAGEO. Aplicou-se a Análise de Conteúdo como método procedimental. Os resultados apontam que a produção científica dos eventos converge para os respectivos enfoques temáticos: (i) riscos e vulnerabilidades socioambientais; (ii) degradação dos recursos hídricos; (iii) qualidade socioambiental urbana; (iv) conflitos socioambientais urbanos; (v) eventos pluviais extremos; (vi) resíduos sólidos urbanos; (vii) ambiente urbano e saúde. Entre as particularidades e tendências averiguadas, destacam-se: (i) predomínio de estudos em municípios de porte populacional médio-grande; (ii) primazia de pesquisas nas escalas da zona urbana, bairro e bacia hidrográfica; (iii) produção científica diversificada quanto à formação acadêmica dos pesquisadores; (iv) diferenciada projeção nacional e intrarregional das Instituições de Ensino Superior relativamente à produção de conhecimento a partir dos eventos científicos; (v) concentração da produção científica na Região Sudeste do Brasil, seguida por Nordeste, Sul, Centro-Oeste e Norte. Conclui-se que a produção acadêmica pautada na valorização das contradições sociais como dimensão intrínseca aos problemas ambientais avança no melhor discernimento das complexas relações socioespaciais que arbitram a apropriação da natureza nos espaços urbanizados do Brasil. Espera-se que essa pesquisa possa contribuir para o conhecimento das tendências que marcam o Estado da Arte da produção geográfica nacional sobre a questão socioambiental urbana. ABSTRACT:This research had as general objective to analyze the State of the Art of the urban socio-environmental issues from the scientific congresses of the Brazilian Geography, covering a time cut corresponding to ten years (2008-2017). The following are specific objectives: (i) to discuss the conceptions about the study of the relationship between society and nature in geographic thought, situating the configuration of the socio-environmental perspective; (ii) to verify from which thematic approaches urban socio-environmental issues have been addressed in scientific congresses; (iii) to indicate the particularities and tendencies of this scientific production in relation to the subject matter in evidence. The analyzed congresses were: ENG; SBGFA; SIMPURB; SBCG; ENANPEGE and SINAGEO. The Content Analysis was applied as a method of procedure. The results show that the scientific production of the congresses converges to the respective thematic approaches: (i) socio-environmental risks and vulnerabilities; (ii) degradation of water resources; (iii) urban socio-environmental quality; (iv) urban socio-environmental conflicts; (v) extreme rainfall events; (vi) urban solid waste; (vii) urban environment and health. Among the particularities and trends verified, the following stand out: (i) predominance of studies in municipalities with medium-large population size; (ii) the primacy of research in the scales of the urban zone, neighborhood and river basin; (iii) diversified scientific production regarding the academic training of researchers; (iv) a differentiated national and intraregional projection of Higher Education Institutions regarding the production of knowledge from scientific congresses; (v) concentration of scientific production in the Southeast Region of Brazil, followed by the Northeast, South, Central West and North. It’s concluded that the academic production based on the valorization of social contradictions as intrinsic dimension to the environmental problems advances in the best discernment of the complex socio-spatial relations that arbitrate the appropriation of the nature in the urbanized spaces of Brazil. It’s hoped that this research can contribute to the knowledge of the trends that mark the State of the Art of the national geographic production on the urban socio-environmental issue.
