Objetivo: Analisar as
ABSTRACT:Introduction: Muscle exhaustion can be defined as the incapacity to generate and
maintain the level of strength, resulting in decreased postural control. However, it is becoming
more and more relevant to study the characteristics of this displacement, and thus we propose
analyzes that also observes the structure of the displacement of the body, through variables of
nonlinear analysis, such as entropies. Through these descriptors, new approaches of
knowledge about the postural control will be possible to maintain the balance in the face of
adverse situations, as in the presence of muscle exhaustion. Objective: The aim of the study
was to analyze the effectiveness of static balance assessment as an evaluation toll for muscle
exhaustion in healtly youngsters. Methodology: The sample consisted of 39 male volunteers
aged 18 to 25 years of age who met the other inclusion criteria. The static balance was
evaluated by means of a force platform in the following moments: pre-exhaustion, postexhaustion and 20 minutes after the interruption of the induction protocol to muscle
exhaustion in LLL, this evaluation was realized on different postural bases - unipodal and
bipodal support and visual stimuli. Results: The results of this study show that after muscle
exhaution all of the variables increased (p<0,05) in bipodal posture with eyes open and closed,
and for unipodal posture the results was very similar, show an increase (p<0,05) on ApEn in
AP way and for CrossEn. The results of recovery process show that in BEO was a decrease
(p<0,05) on ApEn in AP way and on CrossEn; was not found diference (p<0,05) on BEC
posture; and for UEO was found decrese (p<0,05) only on ApEn in AP way. Conclusion: the
finds of this study suggests that postural stability measure by entropy can be a supporting toll
for lower limbs muscle exhaustion evaluation, in atletic, recreational and daily life activites.
However, further studies are needed to confirm what level of exhaustion the individuals were
submitted and even if this modification of the equilibrium patterns occurred by changes at the
muscular or sensory level. |
