ANÁLISE ESTATÍSTICA DO IDEB DO MUNICÍPIO DE TERESINA–PI

Abstract

RESUMO:Atualmente, as informações sobre a educação básica têm sido divulgadas por meio do sistema de avaliação externa, que tem como eixo central o rendimento dos alunos e o desempenho dos sistemas de ensino. O presente trabalho tem por objetivo fazer uma análise estatística dos resultados do Índice de Desenvolvimento da Educação Básica (IDEB) do município de Teresina, bem especificamente, verificar o desempenho de proficiência dos alunos no ciclo de 2017 com relação as categorias: tempo integral/parcial, zona urbana/rural, sexo masculino/feminino e turno matutino/vespertino. Inicialmente apresentou–se um breve histórico sobre a avaliação externa no Brasil. No segundo capítulo encontram-se os principais conceitos estatísticos que fundamentaram a elaboração desse estudo, aborda também o percurso metodológico realizado a fim de que os objetivos fossem alcançados. No terceiro capítulo fez-se uma análise estatística e inferencial dos resultados obtidos. Finalmente, o estudo detectou que os alunos do 5 ano encontram-se no nível adequado em Português e Matemática, enquanto que os alunos do 9 ano em português encontram-se no nível adequado e em Matemática no nível básico. Constatou-se também que existem diferenças significativas na distribuição do 5 ano relacionadas a todas as categorias analisadas. Em relação ao 9 ano verificou-se que não existe associação entre as proficiências dos alunos e o tempo de estudo; constatou-se que existem diferenças significativas alunos quanto às categorias zona e sexo tanto em Português quanto em Matemática; no que diz respeito à categoria turno, as proficiências dos alunos dos anos finais houve diferenças significativas somente em Matemática.

ABSTRACT:Currently, information on basic education has been disseminated through the external evaluation system, which has as its main focus the students’ performance and the performance of the education systems. This work aims to make a statistical analysis of the results of Basic Education Development Index (IDEB) in Teresina district, more specifically, to check the students proficiency performance in the 2017 cycle concerned the categories: full time / partial, urban / rural area, male / female and morning / evening session. First, a brief history of the external evaluation in Brazil was presented. In the second chapter we have the main statistical concepts that based this study, and also the methodological path taken in order to achieve the objectives. In the third chapter a statistical and inferential analysis of the results was made. Finally, the study found that students in the 5th year are at the appropriate level in Portuguese and Mathematics, while students in the 9th year are at the appropriate level in Portuguese and at the basic level in Mathematics. It was noticed that there are significant differences in the distribution of the 5th year related to all the categories analyzed. In relation to the 9th year it was verified that there are no association between the students’ proficiency and the time of studying; it was confirmed that there are significant differences in proficiency regarding the sessions area and gender in Portuguese and also Mathematics; in relationship to the session period of time, there were significant differences in the students’ proficiency in the final years only in Mathematics.
