ENTRE COMEMORAÇÕES CÍVICAS E LUTAS PELA CONSTRUÇÃO DA MEMÓRIA: a política cultural do governo Alberto Silva

Abstract

RESUMO: A dissertação analisa as políticas culturais do primeiro governo de Alberto Tavares Silva (1971-1975) tendo como foco as comemorações da Independência do Brasil e à incorporação da Batalha do Jenipapo a esses eventos cívicos. Para isso, considera-se o contexto político da ditadura civil-militar. As fontes utilizadas foram os jornais publicados no período, as mensagens governamentais enviadas ao legislativo, imagens, biografias e bibliografia sobre o período. Aborda-se, inicialmente, a situação política do Brasil e do Piauí na década de 1970. Para analisar o Brasil, fez-se uso da bibliografia sobre a situação política do país com a instauração do golpe civil-militar (1964) e a ditadura que se instituiu a partir daí. Para analisar o Piauí, recorreu-se a documentos que informaram sobre o quadro político e as articulações de Alberto Silva ao assumir o poder. A pesquisa contempla especialmente as propostas e realizações político-culturais do governo. Analisam-se os principais incentivos desenvolvidos nessa gestão, bem como as comemorações cívicas da Independência do Brasil, observando como eram realizadas essas festividades, enfatizando como a Batalha do Jenipapo é relacionada a essas comemorações e a construção da memória que o Estado objetivou incutir na sociedade piauiense, especialmente com a valorização do 13 de março, apontando as novidades do governo de Alberto Silva em relação aos governos anteriores. ABSTRACT: The dissertation analyzes cultural policies in the first government of Alberto Tavares Silva (1971-1975) focusing on the Independence's celebration of Brazil and the incorporation of the Batalha do Jenipapo to these civic events. For this, the political context of the civil-military dictatorship is considered. Papers published in the period, government messages sent to the legislature, images, biographies and bibliography about the period were used as sources. The political situation of Brazil and Piauí in the 1970s is initially discussed. In order to analyze Brazil, the bibliography was used on the political situation of the country with the establishment of the civil-military coup (1964) and the dictatorship which was instituted from there. To analyze Piauí, we used documents that informed about the political framework and articulations of Alberto Silva when he took office. The research especially contemplates the proposals and political-cultural achievements of the government. We analyze the main incentives developed in this administration, as well as the civic celebrations of the Independence of Brazil, observing how these festivities were carried out, emphasizing how the Batalha do Jenipapo is related to these celebrations and the construction of the memory that the State aimed to instill in Piauí society, especially with the valorization of March 13, pointing out the novelties of the government of Alberto Silva in relation to the previous governments.
