DINÂMICA HIDROAMBIENTAL DA BACIA HIDROGRÁFICA DO RIO PORTINHO E SEUS REFLEXOS NA LAGOA DO PORTINHO

Abstract

RESUMO: A Bacia hidrográfica do rio Portinho corresponde a uma bacia litorânea que tem sua drenagem responsável pelo abastecimento de água da lagoa do Portinho. A lagoa, é um corpo d’água de origem fluvial, formado a partir do barramento natural das águas do rio Portinho pelas dunas que se movem da planície litorânea para o interior do Piauí, no sentido nordeste-sudoeste. Historicamente, essa lagoa tem representado um grande atrativo a visitações e práticas de lazer, principalmente pela sua beleza cênica. No entanto, as reduções dos índices pluviométricos nos últimos anos associada à intensificação do uso das terras e da água nesta bacia hidrográfica, resultaram numa grande diminuição da vazão desse rio culminando praticamente, na extinção dessa lagoa entre os anos de 2010 a 2016. Essa extrema redução da água passou a ser objeto de discussões por parte da população local, da mídia e das instituições públicas, ficando evidente a necessidade de um planejamento socioambiental dessa bacia, que envolva essencialmente a educação ambiental como forma de contribuir para a conscientização da população local sobre o uso sustentável da água e da terra não somente do seu entorno, mas de toda a bacia hidrográfica. Diante da relevância dos fatores envolvidos, este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a dinâmica hidroambiental da bacia hidrográfica do rio Portinho a partir do comportamento das variáveis relativas ao ambiente natural e das ações humanas desenvolvidas nessa bacia que se refletem na lagoa do Portinho, buscando apresentar elementos para o planejamento e gestão ambiental em âmbito local. Os estudos foram realizados a partir de levantamentos bibliográficos, cartográficos, documentais e pesquisas de campo, utilizando técnicas de geoprocessamento para mapeamento da área. A análise dos dados disponíveis, de fotografias e de mapas gerados nesta pesquisa permitiram a identificação de características do ambiente e do uso da água e da terra na bacia hidrográfica do rio Portinho. Concluiu-se que as condições climáticas recentes constituem o fator primordial da deficiência hídrica atual, embora o uso da terra e da água tenha contribuído para agravar o desequilíbrio hidroambiental que atualmente se encontra a bacia hidrográfica e que se reflete na completa secagem da Lagoa do Portinho. This, then, a body of water of fluvial origin, formed from the natural damming of Portinho River through the dunes that move from the coastal plain to the interior of Piauí, in northeast-southwest direction. Historically, this pond has represented a big attractive the visitations and the practices of leisure, especially for your scenic beauty. However, the reductions in rainfall in recent years associated with the intensification of the use of land and water in this river basin, resulted in a significant decrease of the flow of this river culminating in the extinction of this lagoon practically between the years from 2010 to 2016. This extreme reduction of water became the object of discussions by the locals, the media and public institutions, evidencing the need for socio-environmental planning of that watershed, involving essentially environmental education as a way of contributing to the awareness of the local population about the sustainable use of water and land not only of your surroundings, but of the whole watershed. On the relevance of the factors involved, this study aimed to analyze the dynamics hydro- environmental of watershed Portinho River from the behavior of variables relating to the natural environment and human actions developed in this basin that are reflected in the Portinho Lagoon, seeking to present elements for planning and environmental management at local level. The studies were performed from bibliographic, cartographic surveys, documentary and field research, using techniques of geoprocessing for mapping of area. The analysis of the available data, photographs and maps, generated in this research allowed the identification of characteristics of the environment and of water and land use in the watershed of the Portinho River. Concluded that the recent weather conditions are the primary factor of the current water deficiency, although the use of land and water contributed to worsen the imbalance currently hydro- environmental of the watershed and that are reflect in the complete drought of Portinho Lagoon.
