ABSTRACT The dynamics of phosphorus in tropical soils has caused damage to agricultural production in Cerrado areas, because due to the interactions of this nutrient with the inorganic components of the soil, its availability is limited. The objective was to evaluate the quantity and availability of phosphorus; the inorganic forms of phosphorus in the soil, the fraction most retained in the soil and identify the area with the highest phosphorus retention via oxide adsorption in five areas with different times of use located at Fazenda Emílio, Uruçuí-PI, coordinates: 07º13'46 " S and 44º33'22 "W. Soil samples were collected at 36 georeferenced points at a depth of 0.00-0.20 m in each selected area (VN = area of native vegetation; T1 = newly opened area; T7 = area with 7 years of cultivation; T10 = area with 11 years of cultivation; T17 = area with 17 years of cultivation). Then, the samples were subjected to chemical analysis to determine the available phosphorus and sequential chemical fractionation of inorganic phosphorus. Then, the high and low frequency magnetic susceptibility and the chemical and mineralogical characterization of the clay fraction were evaluated by fluorescence and X-ray diffractometry. The data were submitted to descriptive statistical analysis and multivariate analysis. The highest levels for the adsorbed P were observed in areas with 1, 7, 11 and 17 years of use. The P-Al fraction showed the highest content of P adsorbed in four of the five evaluated areas, the area with 7 years of use showed the highest concentrations of the P-Al and P-Fe fractions, the area with 11 years of use had the highest values for the fraction P-Ca, χFD and P-Mehlich-1, SM had higher values in the area with 17 years of use. The inorganic phosphorus fractions were influenced by the time and management used in the areas.

escassos. As espécies sul-americanas do grupo-genérico Scirtothrips nunca
América do Sul.
ABSTRACT: Thripinae (Insecta: Thysanoptera) is the richest of the four subfamilies of Thripidae and
is conventionally divided into 12 genus-groups. Of these, Scirtothrips is one of the most
diverse, comprising 11 genera and more than 100 species. In South America this group
totals 12 species in four genus, but this richness is probably underestimated, since
studies involving these taxa on the continent are scarce. The South American species
of the Scirtothrips genus-group have never been taxonomically revised, so they can
be identified primarily by comparison with type material. This dissertation consists of a
taxonomic review of the genus-group Scirtothrips (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) in South
America. In the present research morphological redescriptions of the species of the
group in the continent were performed, new species were described and a new
synonymy was established. Host plant species were listed whenever possible, as well
as comments on the biology of the insects. Finally, a key including to the South
American species has been proposed that also includes taxa not yet recorded, but with
quarantine potential due to their economic importance in other regions of the planet.

Todavia, a
PBZ em raiz, folha e solo; comprimento e diâmetro de ramos; fotossíntese líquida;
ABSTRACT: The San Francisco Valley stands out in mango production by the use of paclobutrazol, a
plant growth regulator that, together with other management practices, provides the most
uniform flowering at any time of the year. However, its efficiency is very unstable
because of the low mobility of the molecule in the soil. Organic material inputs have
shown promising optimization of ion and molecule absorption, mainly due to the
complexing effect. In this sense, the objective of this study was to evaluate the
effectiveness of fulvic acids and free amino acids on the absorption and effects of
paclobutrazol in mango tree cv. Keitt in semi-arid region. The experiment was conducted
in a commercial orchard in Cabrobó-PE between November 2017 and September 2018.
The experimental design was in randomized blocks with treatments distributed in strip
with and five replicates of four plants each. The treatments were; T1: PBZ + water
(control); T2: PBZ + fulvic acids; T3: PBZ + free amino acids; T4: PBZ + fulvic acids +
free amino acids. The experiment was carried out in two different soil conditions. The
following variables were evaluated: PBZ residue in root, leaf and soil; length and
diameter of branches; liquid photosynthesis; perspiration; internal CO2 concentration;
stomatal conductance; activity of the catalase enzyme; free amino acids; total soluble
proteins; total gibberellins; total soluble carbohydrates; flowering; floral malformation;
productivity. The application of fulvic acids together with paclobutrazol increases its
absorption efficiency, conferring greater gas exchange efficiency and antioxidative
enzyme activity, inhibiting the biosynthesis of gibberellin in the maturation of branches,
maintaining the levels of carbohydrates, proteins and amino acids, generating uniformity
of the flowering and, consequently, providing higher productivity in mango tree cv.
'Keitt'. Therefore, the application of fulvic acids + paclobutrazol can be recommended for
crop management under tropical semiarid conditions.

para as variáveis sólidos solúveis (SS), acidez total (AT) e relação SS/AT.
ABSTRACT: Anonna squamosa L., popularly known of sugar apple, is a fruit very appreciated by
consumers due to their sensorial characteristics. Its production can be influenced by the
management of the plant, including pruning techniques, which can alter the translocation
of carbohydrates, aiming the quality and value added to the fruit. The objective of this
work was to evaluate the effects of pruning or cleaning on carbohydrate contents in
flowers, fruits and pineapple leaves collected at different stages of development, as well
as the post-harvest quality of fruits harvested in three stages under different types of
pruning. The experiment was carried out in the A. squamosa orchard of the Federal
University of Piauí, Bom Jesus, where half of the orchard (20 plants) was pruned for
renovation and the other half was pruned for cleaning. In each type of pruning, samples
composed of flowers, leaves and fruits were harvested at different stages of development
for subsequent analysis of total soluble sugars (AST), reducing sugars (AR) and non -reducing sugars (ANR) and starch. For the harvest, the design was completely
randomized, with 3 replications, in a 2x3 factorial scheme, two types of pru ning
(renovation and cleaning) and three stages of maturation (from E1, semi-mature E2,
mature E3). The post-harvest quality attributes evaluated in the fruits were: length,
diameter, weight, soluble solids content, pH, total acidity, soluble solids / total acidity
ratio and shell color (L, Hue, Chroma). For the carbohydrate variables the mean values
were calculated and these were discussed following the descriptive statistics. For the
physical-chemical variables, the values were submitted to analysis of variance and, when
significant, the averages were compared by the Tukey test at 5% of probability. The
flowers and leaves of pineapple presented, with the exception of the starch, similar
behavior in the treatment types of pruning for the contents of AST , AR and ANR. As for
the AST contents in the fruits, it was verified that the pruning of renovation promoted
higher values, while the reverse occurred in the contents of RA in the fruits with pruning
of cleaning, as this type of pruning promoted higher values. In the NR contents in the
fruits, there was a difference between the stages of development 2 to 6 between types of
pruning and still different behavior for the starch contents in the pine nuts. For postharvest
attributes, there were interactions between pruning and maturation stages for soluble
solids (SS), total acidity (AT) and SS / AT ratio. Significant results for the isolated factors,
cleaning pruning showing higher values, and at the maturation stage E3, with higher
values obtained. In this way, it was concluded that the types of pruning alter the
carbohydrate levels in fruits, flowers and pineapple leaves, as well as the physical-chemical attributes of the fruits in the different stages of maturation in the post harvest
period.
