PAISAGENS REINVENTADAS: um olhar sobre Lisboa

Abstract

RESUMO: Sabendo da importância da escritora portuguesa Teolinda Gersão no panorama lusófono, no âmbito do romance português contemporâneo, o propósito desta pesquisa é examinar de que forma os personagens apreendem subjetivamente a paisagem portuguesa na obra A cidade de Ulisses, publicada em 2011. Por se tratar de um romance que foi publicado após a Revolução dos Cravos, ocorrida em Portugal no ano de 1974, buscamos privilegiar o posicionamento crítico da autora, associando experiência e perspectiva imagética ao cenário cultural português. Considerando reflexões teóricas pertinentes à Geografia Humanista Cultural, serão trazidos à luz os conceitos de paisagem, espaço e lugar, privilegiando o enfoque cultural e existencial que permeia a relação arquitetada entre sujeito e o seu entorno, quando da análise espacial da cidade de Lisboa e da intimidade da casa. Desse modo, é possível perceber que o labor poético de Teolinda Gersão, observando as suas peculiaridades literárias, vincula a preocupação estética a um senso de consciência nacional, à medida que ela traz à tona, por meio de seus escritos, um país em constante transformação e a compreensão das relações sociais que são tecidas nesse contexto espacial. ABSTRACT: Having knowledge of the Teolinda Gersão‟s importance in the lusophone panorama, in the scope of contemporary portuguese novel, the purpose of this research is to examine how the characters perceive subjectively the p ortuguese landscape on the literary work titled A cidade de Ulisses, published in 2011. Since this novel was published after the Carn ation Revolution that took place in Portugal in 1974, we seek to focus on the critical position of the author, associating experience and imagery perspective with the portuguese cultural scene. Considering relevant theoretical reflections to Cultural Humanist Geography, the space, place and landscape concepts will be brought in the light favoring the cultural and existential approach that permeates the relationship architected between subject and his surrounding with regard to the spatial analysis of Lisbon and intimacy of the house. Thereby, it is possible to perceive that the Teolinda Gersão‟s poetic work, watching its literary peculiarities, links the aesthetic concern to a national consciousness sense, as she brings out, through her writings, a country in constant change and understanding of social relations that are structured in this spatial context.
