Abstract

RESUMO:Na cidade de Altos, o Centro Espírita Umbandista Cantinho de Luz é um espaço de culto para as entidades espirituais transmitirem seus ensinamentos aos filhos de santo, médiuns e cambones. Uma das formas desses religiosos estabelecerem uma relação com suas divindades é realizando o movimento tradicional circular da dança ritual, como elemento performático nas práticas rituais do terreiro. A presente pesquisa busca na dança ritual, entender a simbologia que esta apresenta em sua performance, realizada pelo contato entre pai de santo, filhos de santo, tambozeiro e pelos visitantes desse espaço religioso. Essa dança é analisada a partir do processo de possessão do filho de santo com o seu guia espiritual, observando sua expressão gestual e o que ela transmite sobre a mitologia desses espíritos ancestrais. Essa dança é acompanhada dos instrumentos simbólicos canto e música, sendo uma construção integrativa imprescindível nos rituais da Umbanda local. Refletir sobre sua manifestação expressiva é entender que a dança não é um elemento secundário no contexto ritual, mas possui protagonismo na experiência corporal dos filhos de santo, saudando as entidades espirituais, a partir do movimento de seus corpos em comunhão coletiva, além de trazer o benefício da cura espiritual. ABSTRACT:In the city of Altos, the Centro Espírita Umbandista Cantinho de Luz is a space of worship for the entidades espirituais to transmit their teachings to the filhos de santo, médiuns and cambones. One of the ways these religious establish a relationship with their divindades is by performing the traditional circular movement of ritual dance as a performance element in the ritual practices of the ground. The present research seeks in the ritual dance, to understand the symbolism that this presents in its performance, realized by the contact between pai de santo, filhos de santo, tambozeiro and by the visitors of this religious space. This dance is analyzed from the process of possession of the filho de santo with his guia espiritual, observing his gestural expression and what it conveys about the mythology of these ancestral spirits. The symbolic instruments singing and music, being an integrative construction essential in the rituals of the local Umbanda, accompany this dance. To reflect on its expressive manifestation is to understand that dance is not a secondary element in the ritual context, but it has a leading role in the bodily experience of the filhos de santo, saluting the entidades espirituais, from the movement of their bodies in collective communion, benefit of spiritual healing.
