Abstract:
RESUMO: A presente dissertação tem por objetivo analisar os limites e o alcance da apropriação da ética aristotélica das virtudes realizada por Alasdair MacIntyre. Para tanto, consideramos o diagnóstico macintyriano da desordem na linguagem e nas práticas morais característica da modernidade e elegemos tradição, comunidade e racionalidade prática como alicerces da resposta de MacIntyre ao referido cenário e da sua apropriação da ética aristotélica das virtudes. ABSTRACT: This thesis aims to analyze the limits and the reach appropriation of the Aristotelian ethics of virtues by Alasdair MacIntyre. To this end, we focus on the Macintyrian diagnosis of disorder in the language and moral practices as distinctive of modernity, and on the concepts of tradition, community and practical rationality as the basis of MacIntyre's response to this scenery to and also to his appropriation of the Aristotelian virtue ethics.
