Abstract:
As forrageiras
O terceiro experimento avaliou-se a degradabilidade in situ utilizando o
-1
) (P=0,9346). Milho, gergelim e milheto
produziram maiores quantidades de folhas (P<0,0001) na safra 2016: 326,3, 301,8 e 212,2
g Kg
-1
respectivamente. A produção de massa verde (P=0,0320) e massa seca (P=0,0002)
de forragem do milho variaram entre as safras 2014 e 2016 apresentando valores de 58,04 t
ha
-1
, 27,31 t ha
-1
, 25,53 t ha
-1
, 7,98 t ha
-1
respectivamente. Na composição química das
forrageiras, o gergelim apresentou 251,70 g Kg
-1
de MS (P<0,0001). Os teores de CNF
(P=0,0167) foram semelhantes no milho e gergelim com valores de 159,20 e 153,50
respectivamente. As silagens de milheto (3,00 g Kg
-1
) e gergelim (3,10 g Kg
-1
) obtiveram
A fração
solúvel (A) (P<0,0001) da MS na silagem de milho (258,20 g Kg
-1
) apresentou maior teor
seguido das silagens de girassol (218,40 g Kg
-1
) e gergelim (214,70 g Kg
-1
). As silagens
ABSTRACT: The objective of this study was to evaluate the agrostology of sesame in
comparison to usual species for silage production. Three experiments were carried out: the
first one evaluated growth, morphological and production characteristics as well as
chemical composition of the forages using a completely randomized blocks design with
split plots arrangement over time, with four replicates. The plots were composed of four
forages and the subplots of two evaluation periods (2014‟s and 2016‟s harvest). The
forages used were: corn, sunflower, millet and sesame. In the second experiment, the
losses, fermentation quality and chemical composition of forage and silage of 2014‟s
harvest were evaluated using a completely randomized design with four treatments and
four replicates. The treatments consisted of four silages from the forages studied. The
silages were made in 3-kg experimental silos which were opened after 28 days. The third
experiment evaluated in situ degradability using a completely randomized blocks design
with four treatments and three replicates. The animals represented the blocks and the
silages represented the treatments. Three adult Santa Inês sheep with mean body weight of
45.0 ± 4 kg with a permanent ruminal fistula, and housed in individual stalls were used.
For growth characteristics, the sesame varied among the harvests for all studied variables.
There was no interaction effect (P<species×harvest) for stem-stem (g kg
-1
) (P=0.9346).
Corn, sesame and millet produced higher amounts of leaves (P<0.0001) in the harvest of
2016: 326.3, 301.8 and 212.2 g kg
-1
respectively. The production of green mass
(P=0.0320) and dry mass (P=0.0002) of forage of corn varied between the harvests of
2014 and 2016, presenting values of 58.04 t ha
-1
, 27.31 t ha
-1
, 25.53 t ha
-1
, 7.98 t ha
-1
respectively. For chemical composition of forages, sesame presented 251.7 g Kg
-1
of DM
(P<0.0001). The NFC contents (P=0.0167) were similar for corn and sesame with values
of 159.2 and 153.5 respectively. The silages of millet (3.0 g Kg
-1
) and sesame (3.1 g kg
-1
)
obtained lower losses through gases (P=0.0256). Millet silage presented higher losses by
effluent (P<0.0001). Regarding to pH (P=0.0002) the silages of corn, sesame and millet
were similar presenting amounts of 42.1 g kg
-1
, 40.7 g kg
-1
and 41.0 g kg
-1
. The sesame
silage presented NDF contents (P<0.0001) of 627.4 g Kg
-1
. The contents of CP (P<0.0001)
and EE (P<0.0001) of sunflower silages (152.6 and 160.4 g kg
-1
) and sesame (101.3 and
130.3 g kg
-1
) were higher than corn and millet silages. The soluble fraction (A) (P<0.0001)
of DM in corn silage (258.2 g Kg
-1
) presented higher content followed by sunflower (218.4
g Kg
-1
) and sesame (214.7 g Kg
-1
). The silages did not differ for soluble fraction
(P=0.2083) of CP and fraction A (P=0.0622) in NDF. Sesame and millet present better
growth and production characteristics for the period with more irregularity of rainfall.
Sesame silage presents losses and fermentation parameters similar to those found in corn
and sunflower silage, which is an excellent alternative for ensiling. Sesame silage presents
moderate DM content, excellent content of CP and TDN, and low lignin content. Sesame
silage presents a high degradability rate of DM and was similar to corn and millet which
present great nutritional potential for ruminant diet.
