POR DENTRO DO TEATRO: etnografia dos públicos da cultura no Complexo Cultural Teatro do Boi em Teresina (PI).

Abstract

RESUMO: Esta pesquisa analisa do ponto de vista etnográfico, os públicos da cultura no “Teatro do Boi", em Teresina (PI). Esta instituição pública de cultura atua no fomento de práticas culturais promovidas no palco do Teatro, na biblioteca “Fontes Ibiapina” e nas diversas oficinas artístico-culturais que são ofertadas em sua programação. Dos três elementos que compõe o centro cultural, o estudo focou neste último, com o propósito de compreender os sentidos atribuídos pelos públicos das oficinas às experiências vivenciadas por eles/elas na instituição. Assim, percorrendo o cotidiano das oficinas, reconheço que os comportamentos dos públicos são configurados pelo processo de mediação cultural que envolve a gestão da instituição e a atuação dos instrutores, os quais mobilizam estratégias que influenciam a relação daqueles com o universo da cultura. Não obstante, às narrativas dos/as interlocutores/as apresentam o reflexo do processo de “revitalização” que aconteceu recentemente no “Complexo Cultural”, sendo parte dos processos de intervenções urbanas globais que modificaram não somente a estrutura física do prédio, mas provocaram novas ressignificações sobre a apropriação do seu espaço, identificando assim, o fenômeno denominado de gentrification. O percurso etnográfico evidenciou as tensões e expectativas dos diversos agentes envolvidos na dinâmica sociocultural que configura a instituição. Neste feito, o estudo busca iluminar as lacunas referentes aos estudos de públicos culturais para que se pensem outras realidades possíveis neste campo.---------------------ABSTRACT: This research analyses the cultural audience of the “„Boi‟ Theatre” from Teresina (PI) considering the ethnographic approach. This public cultural institution works through the fomentation of cultural practices which are promoted at the theatre‟s stage itself, at Fontes Ibipiana library and at the various artistic-cultural workshops which are offered in its programme. Taking account the three elements which are part of the cultural center, this study focused on the last one, thus the following study goals is to understand the meanings built by workshop‟s audience based on the experiences they‟ve had on that institution. So, observing the workshop‟s daily routines it was recognized that the public‟s behavior is shaped by cultural mediation process which involves institution management and the action of the theatre workers who mobilize strategies that influence the relationship of those with the universe of culture. However, the interlocutors‟ narratives show the reflection of the revitalization process that happened recently at the “Cultural Complex”, being part of global urban intervention process which modified not only the physical structure of the building, but also caused the new redetermination on place appropriation, identifying the phenomenal known as gentrification. The ethnographic approaching evidenced the tensions and expectations of several agents who are involved in sociocultural dynamics that conforms the institution. In conclusion, the study intends to fulfill the existent gaps in cultural public studies, so that new realities will be able to be thought at this field.
