PORTO, Dayara Lins
ABSTRACT:Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) form a mutual association with the roots of plants, promoting the intracellular colonization of the roots of plants. The inoculation of the plants with FMAs is an alternative to increase their vigor and resistance to water stress. The water deficiency acts in the reduction of the water availability in the plant in the morphological changes of the plants through the opening and closing of the stomata. The establishment of the mycorrhizal association with plant species of the Parkia genus and the benefits of symbiosis have not yet been explored under stressful conditions. In this context, this work was carried out with the objective of evaluating the inoculation of the AMF in the initial growth and morphophysiological evaluation of the acorn fava plants under water stress. The experimental design used was in blocks causalized with factorial scheme 2x6, corresponding to two conditions of water regime (with and without stress); four strains of FMAs (Gigaspora rosea, Gigaspora margarita, Acaulospora koskei and Acaulospora morrowiae), a treatment with intercropped inocula (Mix) and a control with five replicates. To evaluate the effect of water stress, the vessel weighing method was adopted periodically. At 120 days after sowing, the morphological variables (height, diameter, leaf number, root length, total root volume, shoot dry mass, root and total) and physiological (net assimilation rate of CO2 A), leaf transpiration (E), internal CO2 concentration (Ci), stomatal conductance (gs) and water use efficiency (USA)), mycorrhizal colonization rate, macro and micronutrients of plant area and content of glomalin in soil. Regarding the morphological characteristics, A. morrowia showed better results among the treatments in the condition without water stress. In the physiological parameters, the variables A, E, Ci and gs presented significant interaction between the strains to the conditions with and without water stress, whereas for the USA the strains A. koskei and G. margarita showed the highest averages under the other treatments. The rate of mycorrhizal colonization was low, however, the A. morrowia strain was the one that promoted the best result. For the P, Mg and Mn contents there was interaction, where better responses were found by strains A. morrowia, G rosea, inoculum Mix and control, respectively, in the condition without water stress. And for the Zn content in the acorn fava leaves there was a significant result for the strains studied regardless of the water condition. In the soil glomalin content, the best responses occurred in the A. koskei, A. morrowiae, G. margarita and Mix inoculum strains differing from the control for this tree species at 120 days of cultivation compared to the conditions studied.

ABSTRACT:The cohesive horizons are recognized as potentially limiting to the development of plants due to the high soil resistance to penetration when dry, high values of soil density and reduction of hydraulic conductivity. This fact affects the development of the root system of the plants, the available water content, aeration and the absorption of nutrients, constituting a physical inhibitor that negatively influences agricultural production. In this sense, because it is the Coastal Traps, an important area for agricultural production, mainly in the Brazilian Northeast, the objective of this study was to evaluate the physical behavior of cohesive and non-cohesive Yellow Latosols in the Coastal Tabuleiros of Bahia and in the Cerrado of Piauí (Chapter 2), as well as to evaluate the consistency limits and aggregate stability indexes of a Yellow Latosol Distrocoses under different agroforestry systems in the Recôncavo region of Bahia, as well as their relationship with the organic matter content (Chapter 3). For the first study, two soils profiles with expressive cohesive character were selected, both classified as typical Yellow Latosol, in the municipality of Cruz das Almas, in the region of Tabuleiros Costeiros da Bahia, and a profile without the presence of cohesive character in the municipality of Palmeira do Piauí, in the Cerrado region of Piauí. For the second study, the experimental design was completely randomized in a 5x3 factorial scheme, consisting of five soil management and use systems with three soil depths, with three replications, totaling 45 sample units. The evaluated systems of use were composed of four stands with plants of native species and an area under pasture, being: Angico red - PAV, Sabiá-PS, Gonçalo Alves-PGA, Jenipapo-PJ and Pasture (PAST). The very thick and coarse sand fractions are associated to the genesis of these horizons with a cohesive character, allowing a better arrangement of the particles, making the profile more densified and subject to cementation. The higher proportion of very thick and coarse sand fractions observed in cohesive soils contributed to increase the soil bulk density, microporosity and penetration resistance, with a reduction of macro / microporosity and hydraulic conductivity. The areas under pasture and under Sabiá cultivation were those that contributed the most to the stabilization of the soil aggregates in the first 4 cm of depth. The stability index and the percentage of aggregates greater than 2.0 mm stable in water proved to be properties of the aggregate stability and showed correlations with the total organic C content of the soil. The areas under pasture had the highest TOC contents, in all depths studied, with decreases along the profile. Soils under pasture and cultivation of Jenipapo presented the highest plasticity limit values in the 0-0.2 and 0.2-0.4 layers.

silício via fertirrigação; i) promove algum efeito nas características produtivas do mini
ABSTRACT
The cultivation of mini tomato in greenhouse is a promising activity, considering
the greatest phytosanitary and climatic safety. It has to be considered, however, that in
this environment the accumulation of fertilizing salts in the culture substrate is usual. The
performance of the mini tomato is known to be impaired when it grows on saline
substrates, and the species is classified as moderately salt sensitive. Based on the
information available, this study was conducted in order to obtain information on the
effect of salinity and a silicon application via fertigation; i) some positive or no effect on
mini tomato productions; ii) the effects on the growth of the mini tomato. Initially the
artificial salinization curve of the substrate and its respective salt content were elaborated
enough to raise the electrical conductivity of the substrate solution to representative levels
of the treatments. At the end of the crop cycle the productive characteristics of the tomato
were evaluated as number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruits per plant, and the
percentage of these values that correspond to the range of commercial interest in both
number and weight; it was also evaluated the morphological characteristics of the mini
tomato as dry matter and fresh matter and variables related to fruit quality such as °Brix, Total Titratable Acidity (TTA), palatability (°Brix / TTA) and pH. The application of
silicon to fertigation significantly promoted root growth, as well as the increase of the
initial levels of salinity contributed to the increase of fruit quality of the mini tomato in
protected environment.

ABSTRACT: The change in soil use can cause changes in the organic matter dynamics, promoting reductions in carbon contents in the several compartments and organic fractions. To better understand the influence of soil use practices responsible for soil carbon dynamics in depth, the objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of soil use on the Caatinga and Cerrado Biomes on carbon stocks and grain size fractions of organic matter at the 0 -100 cm depth. The study was carried out in two locations in the state of Piauí, one in Serra do Quilombo, located in the municipality of Bom Jesus and the other in the town of Criuli, located in the municipality of Santa Luz. Two Biomes (Cerrado and Caatinga) and three forms of land use (native forest, pasture and farming) consisting of seven soil depths (0-10;10-20; 20-30; 30-40; 40-60; 60-80 and 80 -100 cm), with three replicates, totaling 126 samples. The study consisted of two studies, the first one was to characterize soil organic matter (SOM) and soil carbon stock (Est C) at depths in Latosols under Cerrado and Caatinga biomes and under different forms of soil use (pasture, farming and native forest); the second was to determine the physical fractionation of organic matter: particulate organic matter (POM), C-associated with particulate organic matter (C-POM), C-associated with minerals (MOC) and carbon management index (CMI). The conversion of native forest by agricultural systems with pasture and farming in the Caatinga and Cerrado biomes increased SOM levels in the 0-20 cm depths. Land use with pasture and agriculture in the Caatinga and Cerrado biomes affects the vertical distribution of C in the depths 0-100 cm. The use of the soil with farming in the Caatinga and pasture in the Cerrado were the systems of soil use that presented the best favorable conditions to the recovery of C in the soil. Changes in natural environments in agricultural areas had a considerable impact on the vertical distribution of carbon from the granulometric fractions in the two biomes. In the Cerrado biome, land use with farming caused reductions in POM and C-POM levels. In the Caatinga biome, the soil use with pasture and farming decreased the values of POM, C-OM and MOC. Any of those uses had the capacity to restore the initial values of the soil.
